Coupon Policy Change, W. Battlefield, not good

Cashier Pam told me today they are no longer accepting expireds, and are limiting to 8 like coupons per visit. They are letting everyone know this week, and will be enforcing it starting next week.

I told her to please pass along to management how this will probably decrease my business, since Dillons is a 15 min drive for me. It's not so much the limit of like coupons, but it's the not accepting expireds that bothers me. That is (was!) one thing that set Dillons apart from other grocery stores, IMO. I can walk to HHouse, or I can drive 15 min. to Dillons. I used 1 expired today and she didn't catch it, and didn't tell me about the policy change until after she'd scanned all my coupons. She said she would have overrode it anyway...since they're not enforcing until next week.

Bummer! Although, I wonder if they'll post signs and really enforce it (like the no combining e-coupons and paper coupon policy) or if it just depends on your cashier. I am still happy they "double" a coupon over .50 cents to a $1. If they ever stop that policy, then yes, that would be the end of my business...

I just wish the limit was 10 instead of 8. It just makes more sense when that have "buy 10" as their sales main theme.

If anyone shops other area stores and the policies are different, please post. I don't care--I'll go to the store with the most lenient policy.

I wonder if they'll do that for Leavenworth...I was so excited about moving near Dillon's, too! :(

Would it be a pathetic and bad thing to beg for some reps if my post helped you? Because everyone wants to be popular, even over the intraweb. *sigh**puke*

I went yesterday to the Leavenworth store and nothing was said about my expires when I used them. I asked my cashier if she knew anything about a new coupon policy and she looked at my like I was from another planet. She was new, so I really don't know if they will be changing or not.

St Louis has been doing the 8 identical for a loooooooong time. I think I mentioned it back in another thread. If for some reason Sunshine decides to follow this, I believe that they will allow 10 during a mega event. The reason I say that is that thier identical limit has been 10 for as long as StLouis has been 8 and the mgr allows 20 during a mega since its a mega. I havent used 20 identical in a long time in one transaction though. I will have my Dh ask his fav cashier tonight and let you know what I find out. She is really cool with the coupon thing AS WE USE THEM but she is always mentioning the 2 crazy local women who use coupons wrong AND teach people to do this. FTR, I have no idea who these people are. She has mentioned things such as coupon decoding when talking about them.
While it might be a pain for the 8 identical, I think its still going to be completely doable even during a mega event. Its not difficult to find another 2 items to make 10. The expired coupons will be a loss - but its not something that I've used ALOT during all of my couponing there.
Time will tell, but I dont think we are doing too bad when it comes to coupon policy at Dillons.

I'm going to Sunshine today. I'll find out what their policy is and report back.
