The first time I did it was because actually one of my items didn't ring up. I had caught the cashier with one item that he missed, and then he missed another one. I was a little more on-the-ball and looked at my receipt and one of my $5 had not come off. I counted them up, noticed there was one less can of chicken broth, went to CS right away and she rang up the one can, took the $5 off, and returned $4 to me. I'm sure they think I'm nuts, though they have been really nice to me. The CS person today had been helping bag groceries when I was checking out and saw me with my mayhem!!!
My kids are actually great. I pushed them today by going right before lunch (my 18 MO fell asleep on the drive home actually so she didn't have "lunch" until 4:00). They get all into it too, my 6YO pushes one of the kid carts and collects items. Sometimes though I like to get up and go at 6 AM or go after they go to bed. That's very peaceful!
I have one more tip. Kellogg's Cinnabon Cereal had "Try Me Free" rebate advertised on the box. $2.49 mega price (so rings up $2.99). So, if you buy it on mega and actually have a coupon for it (I have a printable that I think was from Kelloggs.com) it's a MM (is that right? Or do they rebate you the amount minus coupon? On Dillon's receipts I don't see how they could possibly tell).
