HAPPY DANCE Dillons: My First Shopping Trip With Coupons (9/07/10)

    Hi All,
I went on my first shopping trip yesterday using sales and coupons. I've always just bought what we need and never cared about sales and coupons. Well, with the limited amount of coupons I acrued over the past week, I think I did ok for a newbie. I hope I can post so it's understandable. I'm new to forums too.

    (10) Betty Crocker Cake Mixes Sale 1/$1
    (10) Betty Crocker Frosting Sale 1/$1.69
-10 BC Cake and Frosting $0.75/2
    Total $16.90

    (1) Johnsonville Sausage Sale $2.99
    -1 $1/1
    Total $1.99

    (2) Bar S Thick Bologna Sale 2/$2.50
    -1 $1/2
    Total $1.50

    (28) Van Camps Pork & Beans 28oz. Sale 1/$1
    -28 $0.50/1
    Total FREE

    (4) Campbell's Spaghetti O's Sale 1/$1
    -2 $0.50/2
    Total $2.00

    (10) Kraft Salad Dressing 16oz Sale $1.77
    -10 $0.55/1
    Total $7.70

    Total OOP = $31.47 w/tax of $1.38

    Savings:
    Vendor Coupons = $29.55
Bumped and Doubled Coupons = $22.45
    Store Coupons = $47.58

    Total Savings = $99.58 or 76%

I'm sure I could have done better if I had been collecting coupons as long as some of you. I'm ok with saving $100 though. My husband is happy with me too. That made the pain of shopping worth it.

I went to the Dillons on Sunshine. Everyone there was nice and helpful.

I also got a raincheck for 15 lbs of ground chuck at $1.66/lb. My husband loves burgers, especially with Lipton's Onion Dip mix. And we love Hamburger Helper, which I got at Target yesterday for $0.75 each.

If you see where I could have improved, let me know. I knew nothing about couponing two weeks ago.

Be sure to check out Dillons, cellfire, shorcuts and Upromise websites to load coupons onto your Dillons Plus card for possibly more savings. I think you did a great job shopping!

Thank you everyone for the encouragement. I was going to load my Dillons card but the coupons all said they couldn't be used with paper coupons. I was unaware that the computers might not catch it. Now I'm armed for the next time.

    Thanks Everyone.
