CHAT Thoughts on New Policy

Just wondering if everyone thinks this new policy will stick or not? I myself will not be making the 40 min drive one way as often and think it is a shame they have made such a drastic change in their policy. I have emailed and called and am suppose to be recieving a call back (doubt it will happen). I really hope they reconsider.

I think it really speaks for the health of our economy and how popular using coupons has become. Profits must have really been hurting due to coupon use for Kroger to change their policies so drastically. I can understand the apprehension to accept IPs since they are so easily manipulated, but changing the policy on the doubling of coupons and expired coupons is very unfortunate. Those were the exact policies that kept me shopping at Dillons as opposed to PC or Walmart. I guess I'll have to learn not to be such a procrastinator. Mega sales aren't going to be as fun either.

I totally agree! If I have 10 sobe Ips and can only use 2, it changes everything.
I only have access to a black and white printer. I sure hope the whole "cannot accept" b&w IPs is not true.

I wonder if the "powers that be" at Corporate read this forum. I hope so- because I know a lof of us are probably emailing them, but it would be nice if they could also read some of these comments as well.

Great idea! I just emailed them the links to these specific forum posts....hoping they'll see just how unhappy their regular shoppers are...

I truly think that the IPs and dishonest people have done this...just think if someone walks in with 50 copied IPs, and the store gets reimbursed for 1. OUCH. I personally think that it probably takes the stores a while to get reimbursed for the coupons, so over the last few months with couponing growing, and IPs being more popular...esp with FB emailing free's for things (Libbys, tornadoes, and so many others). THere are probably thousands of people unfornuately hitting the stores hard, and they are just now figuring out how much they're losing off dishonest IP qs. That is just my gut talking...and typing outloud. I don't think the policy is as bad as I first thought. I can deal with 2 IP per item per trip...I rarely have more than 2 or 4, the sobe's are different since you can print 2 per day, but other than that..not many should have tons of the same IP. Them only doubling .50 qs...at least it's still .50 doubling, many of my good qs I get freebies on are the .50 qs...so we still have that going for us! My manager that I called didn't mention a thing about the BW Ips not working. I have a color printer, so that doesn't bother me, but if it's true....I'd suggest go buy a 50.00 color printer, it will pay for itself in a month, it will be well worth the investment or just add them to your trade list. It could be alot worse...it could be like Hyvee where they don't even take a free q from the manufacturer...foil stamped and all...they won't take them! We still have that :)))

Well I was mainly upset about them not bumping the q's .51-.99 up to a $1 and the no more expired. Since it is now being said they willl continue to bump up the q's I am now just sad about no more expired and I don't understand why they would change this. I understand the changing of the ip and think its sad some abused the system soooo much it has come to this. I order a bunch of q's friday off ebay that expire tomorrow that I will now just have to throw away....oh well at least I still have the bumping up of q's....I think

The no more expired is the most disappointing to me...it's the only store that I know of that would take expirys. I actually used probably 4 or 5 a month...not much I know, but with the crappy inserts we get and having to pay $2 for a KC Star, the use of expireds was a nice perk.

My manager stated from the letter, coupons .50 or less will be doubled. .51 or more will be face value....I guess some people will have to do some test runs to see if this is true.
