Dillons ~ Vent: Dillons : No Coupons on Manager's Specials?!?!

I love how the red head "head" clerk @ the store on Battlefield makes up her own rules as she goes...constantly! Tonight Grand's Biscuits were marked down to $.25, so I tried to use $75/3 coupons and she wouldn't take them because "Dillons doesn't take coupons on mark downs." Word of advise: self check out!

You know I had her take them all off...whateva.

(Someone please tell me I am not wrong on this...I know I've done it....I think.........)

I've been told the same thing at Price Cutter, but I have also had cashiers at both stores take off the coupons manually, so I think it's really YMMV.

I have used coupons on Manager's Special for years. I think you just had a cashier who making up the rules as she goes! GRRR-it is frusterating!

I have tried using coupons on manager's specials at the Battlefield store and I was denied EVERY SINGLE TIME no matter who is at the register. So I don't know how you guys are doing it, but I never have.

I also was told that at the Battlefield store my the red head. I haven't tried it at any of the other stores. Maybe I'll give it a go at Sunshine.

I just used a coupon last week on a manager's special and the coupon beeped. the AM had to came over to override it but it was no big deal and he never said anything.

Ask them where it says that in their coupon policy. The problem with the managers specials is they put an entirely new barcode on it that beeps with every coupon. I've had a problem in the past with buying manager's specials that should generate a Catalina, but of course they don't because of the special barcode.

I have done it! I remember now! I found a ton of Zyrtec on manager special and used coupons on it with no problems. Oh well!

I am not allowed to use coupons on manager specials either, which makes no sense to me. This just started about a year ago at my store. I only have one close so I haven't tried it at any other stores.

Something similar just happened to me tonight at St. Louis and National. I had noticed yesterday that the Danimo's were on Manager Special for $1.19 and I had $1.50 coupons. I bought 1 extra to cover the overage. I went thru self checkout and the lady had to manually put my coupons in and wouldn't allow the overage! Kansas and kearney ALWAYS allows the overage. I politely argued with her, but she wouldn't allow it and she happened to be the manager on duty. Oh well, I still got a great deal for my 3 year old.
