I like Dillons as a store, but I generally don't like the employees. This morning dh went to Dillons after he got off of work (he works 10pm-6am this week) to exchange the propane tank for the grill. He picked up 3 dozen eggs (so I can bake up some 9 pounds of bananas) and went to the register and told the lady cashier that he also needed to exchange the propane tank.
"The propane tank," she says bewildered.
"Yes, the propane tank," said dh.
"Normally the bag boys exchange the tanks," she says.
Dh stands there. There are no bag boys lingering around, but there are about 150 people stocking shelves. He waits for her to call somebody over or call a manager or call anybody who would know what to do for dh.
"Can you come back in an hour?"
"Nope", and he pays for the eggs and walks out.
THAT was her solution? Come back in an hour?! We went to Walgreens tonight and used my RRs to exchange a new tank. It was FREE and the price to exchange was actually a few dollars cheaper than Dillons.

Re: Grrr...Dillons...
Yeah, I don't think any of the "Head Cashiers" really act like they are in charge of anything. It's as if they have worked there for 10 years and don't know a thing. What does "Head Cashier" really mean? "Hello. I'm the 'Head of really terrible customer service', how can I help you?"
When I first started couponing and trying to figure out all of the rules and verify the info that everyone online was giving me, I remember asking the "head cashier in the black vest" if they accepted expired coupons. He looked at me as if I had two heads and said, "No, I don't think so." Wouldn't the "Head Cashier" know? I asked an older man who worked there and he said no. Finally, I decided that I would just try to use an expired coupon to see what would happen, and of course, it was accepted.
