HOT Dillon's on Battlefield in Springfield.

I think I have finally had enough. The last straw came last night when one of the cashiers decided to throw one of my coupons away. I thought maybe something was wrong because I didn't think I heard a beep, so I checked my receipt as I was walking to the car and sure enough, no $2.50 q taken off. I went back in and asked to see the Iams coupon. He avoided looking at me and said "I don't have an Iams coupon." I told him it was in the stack I gave him. The head cashier started looking through his coupon bag. As soon as she started looking, he miraculously knew right where to look- in the trash can. He pulled it out and it was wadded up. I asked him why he would throw my coupon away. He muttered something about it being in with the paper towels he used to clean up the Downy spill that happened at the very beginning of the transaction. I did not give him my coupons till the end. And of course, it was right on top of the trash can and totally dry.

I have had several issues with the head cashier there being nasty to me about coupons and rain checks and I'm just not dealing with it any more. She actually tried to tell me they don't give rainchecks if they are out of certain flavors or varieties. With the McCormick Grinders they only had a couple flavors left and it was the Tuesday night that the sale ended. She reluctantly gave me one, but huffed and puffed about it the whole time.

It will be inconvenient to go to another Dillon's, but well worth keping my blood pressure from going through the roof every time I check out.

Oh Wow, I would have had to probably pop a nitro tab myself so I wouldn't have a heart attack from choking that boy, lol!

I live in Willard so I shop at the Kansas and Kearney store. I have for years even prior to couponing. I have never had one minute of trouble at this store. Never had a coupon questioned or anything. I always make double sure I'm organized and have all the right sizes, etc. before I head to check out. But, never one problem and they are always well stocked.

Sorry you had such a hard time! I say switch stores so you can conserve your energy for getting the run around at Walgreens! (er maybe it's just me that has issues at Walgreens?)!!

I havent had a problem at Battlefield but Im really sorry that those people are driving you away. I dont go often and I almost always use the self checkout. Ive gone to Kearney a few times but noticed that in some cases thier prices were higher ( the breyers mega deal is a recent example) so I only go there if I really have to. I prefer the Sunshine store mostly because its convenient for me, but havent had any troubles there. One time when I was at Battlefield with my hubby and went to a live cashier - it was a good order, but certainly not one of my best..... the lady behind us commented on how good we did and the guy was going on about how you should see this other lady ( I secretly wondered if he was talking about someone here, lol) but thier attitude about whomever they( cashier & bagger, both guys) were talking about definately showed through the words they were saying. That day I decided it would be self check out at Dillons. By the sway - this was the same afternoon that I watched Battlefield Dillons EMPLOYEES writing each other rainchecks for GRAPE powerade........... so dont buy the baloney.

OH, about Wags. I find that the cashier makes all the difference with them. The Sunshine stores is particularly friendly especially a lady named D... She will subtotal and say * Ok were at xx.xx lets see how we do * She is always friendly, always. In fact I need to send a compliment to her Mgr. I seem to have good luck with the first initial D, cause the nicest lady at CVS also has that one LOL The ppl at battlefield wags are a bit strange but the only *issue* Ive had was a change of heart on Qs with Bogo's so now I dont even ask at any of the wags here. I dont do freemont or Kansas b/c of tax..... so for me its normally sunshine and St Johns. SUnshine I enjoy, St Johns I simply survive and hope that they dont remember me from week to week LOL

O WOW! I have shopped for years at the kearney Dillions and actually the manager there adresses me on by name.... I have never seen a cashier do THAT ??? WHY ???
I would definately take names/date/times and contact the coperate office....NOT the store manager....a corperate offical and tell them I prolly won't be returning!
And yeah....Tracey is right....I do look for certain cashiers...it sometimes helps...
It is WAY TOO BAD we have a shortage of chain grocery stores here in Spfld, there is not a lot of competition or options......
    Blessings!!!!! genet

I've never had a problem at Battlefield, though that is my least favorite Dillons. I usually go to Sunshine since it's closer. I really like the Kearney store the best even though that one is farthest away from me. Maybe I've been lucky with my cashiers. I would have totally went off on the cashier you had and not left the store until something was done about it.

I really prefer the Battlefield Store. It's alot bigger and cleaner than the other ones. Granted, I've never been to the Kearney Store. I've lived here my entire life and never knew that store even existed I almost always use the self-checkout though. Maybe that helps? I'm really not a fan at all of the Sunshine store....

I agree we need more selection around here. One CVS is not enough.

I agree that the Battlefield one is really nice inside. The thing that I actually like the most is they are the ones I always find great clearance deals Like I said, Ive only gone to a live cashier once there and the rest self check out. I do the same at Sunshine for the most part. Ive had problems with the machines that the self checkout person at both of those stores gave me no grief though when they had to fix it. I always have a positive attitude with them so I think its difficult for them to be weenies. It definately happens at wags for me sometimes. Typically my *issues* are when both the cashier and I know we are following the Q rules and the computer is giving us trouble anyways.....

I recently had a target mgr tell me I couldnt use my Electrasol Q because I got the wrong size ( it was a size substitution on thier sale) and I showed him the Q AGAIN and said, I think the cashier just needs to adjust the Q down to 1.80 and he conceeded and left. He had some tude ( and other issues) but in the end he did what was right. I hope I can continue to have relatively good experiences.... cause Im not going to last in Q land if I dont LOL

I'm sorry mods if this is too off subject, but
If it was the tall guy with glasses and a belly(but not large by any means...) he ALWAYS gives people with coupons a problem. I've seen other girls checkout at Target in Springfield too and he stands near/hovers by wherever they are checking out...and the second a coupon beeps(which they do sometimes) he snatches most of them and says you can't use them that's Target's policy...so call corporate and print off what they say

I agree with having problems at the Battlefield store! I have only had smooth transaction there ONCE!!! It is very annoying. The head cashier had the nerve to ask me if my card was registered with my phone number(it is by the way, I like getting my home mailer coupons!) because Gerber had that $3 printable at the beginning of the year. He said, "well, we do business with Gerber, and it seems very stupid and strange that they would be giving away baby food or cheap Gerbergraduates items...as soon as you leave, I'll be calling corporate and Gerber directly to make sure these are okay"... so, I gave him the link and said. " well, you can go check on your computer and call them right now if you think I'm lying. I don't have time to make up coupons and forge them! I have a toddler and a newborn(who were both crying in the cart by this point), and I'm just trying to use what came in my email for them. Either except it or give it back so I can redeem the coupon elsewhere " 45 minutes later I walked out with my kids and groceries, but it was a headache. I'd also like to mention that it took 20 minutes for me to start shopping that day because the darn car cart was stuck at the very back corner of the cart corrall inside.I had to set down my infant carrier, toddler, and bag to move all of the carts to get to that one. If the cart is for little kids...don't they know moms always have their hands full?

The Kearney store and especially the one on East Sunshine have GREAT cashiers who actually enjoy seeing the regular customers and enjoy seeing how much you can save. My son loves it because if we go in the morning, the man who always stocks the dairy( I can not remember his name right now! ...I'm sure I'll think of it when I'm done typing) gives him string cheese. Brent, Tim(one of the managers...actually friend/old church-mate/school mate), and all of the other cashiers are great! I've only ever had a couple items rang up incorrectly then what they were priced on the shelf, and I never had any hassles getting it fixed...someone would just go back there, check and fix it for me. Great job and kuddos to them.
ISO-, Kashi, Fresh Express, winetags/beer rebates, produce or meat coupons, Honeysuckle White turkey(home mailers usually:) ), POWERADE,, SNAPPLE, GATORADE, SMARTWATER -ANY( Hubby has hour comute to work and if I don't buy these he does at the gas stations), Angel Soft $.50/1+, any Huggies wipes
