French Apple Cobbler French Apple Cobbler serves 6-8 filling ingredients: 5 C tart apples, cored, peeled, and sliced ¾ C brown sugar 2 T flour ½ t cinnamon ¼ t salt 1 t vanilla extract ¼ C water 1 T butter, softened batter ingredients: ½ C flour, sifted ½ C sugar ½ t baking powder ¼ t salt 2 T soft butter 1 egg, slightly beaten Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine all of the filling ingredients and stir until apples are coated. Turn into a 9” square baking dish. Combine all batter ingredients. Beat with a wooden spoon until smooth. Drop batter on top of the apples in large clumps. Bake 35-40 minutes or until apples are tender and crust is golden brown. Serve warm with a large scoop of French vanilla ice cream.
