Default stupid question - jello and pudding

so I'm wanting to make individual jello & pudding trifles for my DD's sweet sixteen party. What do I use instead of cool-whip that will stay nice but be able to sit out for a while. I don't want it to turn to a icky liquid consistency.

We are doing an "Old Hollywood Theme" complete with red carpet and paparatzzi. The dance floor is in the center of the room with an awards presentation area centered at the front of the room. On both sides will be tables set with "dinner ware" and mini desert buffets. Here are my ideas for food (all snacks)

    5 flavors of mini cupcakes
    buckeyes
    chocolate dipped pretzels
    popcorn

Anyone else have ideas for finger food deserts/snacks?

I am so lucky that I have a friend who sponsored the high school special ed prom this spring and she gave me all of the left over decorations. We have 8 ft silver columns with tuxedo shirts & top hats and some matching centerpeices that light up. She also had black chair covers with red sashes and table clothes. I am making the red rope thing that lines the red carpet and printing off 8x10 pix of Old Hollywood Characters to use with the centerpeices. I'm also planning a walk of fame with her closest friends featured.

From what I've learned throughout the years, too much food is a waste as they tend not to eat much in crowds I don't know why LOL.... but, anyway I'm open to any ideas.

Could you pop it in the freezer before pulling them out so they last longer?

Pinwheels with sweet centers, like nutella and dried fruits
"Mocktails" - like mock cosmos, mock martinis, etc with no alcohol
    Caramalized nuts

As far as the pudding, maybe reddi whip? Not to sure about that, it may break down faster than coolwhip

Or ~ There is a thing in the baking aisle that you can make your own coolwhip. I don't think it calls for dairy, so that might work.

    Hope this helps

I thought about "mocktails" but decided against it. The pinwheels are a terrific idea though. I might test the freezing idea :)

I think the reddi whip might not last as long...I don't think real whip creme will either.

I wonder if you can add something to the whip creme to keep it going longer though.

I asked my sisters and they can't think of anything to ad to it that won't change the texture or taste.
