Gooey Oreo Bars
Another great use of a couple of stockpile items (for me, anyway!)...this recipe was up on the Picky Palate website the other day, but I adapted it slightly.
1 chocolate cake mix (I used yellow...no chocolate on hand)
1 stick butter, softened
1 egg
14 Oreo cookies (I only had double stuffed so that's what I used)
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 1/2 c. chocolate chips (I just used the entire 2 c. bag)
Preheat oven to 350. Mix cake mix, butter, and egg - I just used my hands, much quicker. You'll have a stiff dough. Press into greased 9x13 pan. Break Oreos into pieces and spread over top (not crushed...just broken). Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over top of that, and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Bake for 23-25 minutes. Cool 5 minutes, run knife around edge of pan to loosen a bit. Let cool completely and cut in squares.
REALLY sweet. Cut small - but my 3 year old could do this recipe pretty much by himself, which he LOVED. Super kid friendly and easy. Yum!
