I had an unexpected family emergency come up this weekend. Ended up having to spend several hundred dollars to go to FL for a few days... but I was able to cover it all with our ER fund. Thank goodness for DH's grandpa leaving us that wonderful gift!!

Hi all, I am in! I am on baby step 2, I have about 7800.00 in cc debt to pay off (should be 0 the end of May). Glad to see everyone doing so well. For those of you that don't have DH on board, be patient. I waited 13 loooong years for him to get going but now he finally is!!

So happy for you!!!
Well the ER visit on Sunday will set us back some, so we will be paying minimums on all bills for the next couple months. Once dh's VA disability finally gets approved (10 months and waiting..) we will be able to attack the debt. We have the emergency fund, but we don't want to pull a lot more from it until we know what our IRS bill will be this year. (pulled some retirement money out).
I am also starting to put applications in to christian schools for teaching next year. There is also one available now at a local public school...I'm considering applying for.
Contentment is a choice.
Bloom where you are planted.
Things are finally settling down for us. We have a few big bills coming up (home warranty & vet license bills) but we should be able to pay those in cash once they are due.
We have been battling the life insurance company since March 2011 trying to get DH a policy (he is a cancer survivor... so they have made it a HUGE battle) but he finally just got approved for a policy last week... granted it will be expensive, I am thrilled we will finally have one. So that will be another large payment to adjust our monthly expenses to.
DH got moved to a commission pay in October... so far we have taken a 30% paycut!! I have started out with a small monthly savings amount for now. Hopefully we will be able to bump it up next month or so, when DH's busy months start at work. We have been able to manage the loss pretty well thus far, I hope it improves though. Oh the challenges of life. :)
Hope everyone else is doing well.
