Eeyore88's Debt support thread....
Hey everyone I'm new but I just started coupon mainly to help me save so I could pay off my student loans that are at the moment in default, and staying a afloat living by myself. I live in CA and it is really expensive. SO, I am just wondering if any one has any tips or ticks of the trade about couponing in California? I know our stores don't double but any advice for me.
Debt Cutters
How much debt do you need to reduce?
Current debt- loans $ 8,000
-Credit cards $1000 plus interest
-Medical bills $600-$700
How did you get in debt?
credit cards (spending more than we make), Student loans, having to go to the emergency room.
You've accrued debt. What are the main factors that keep you from reducing it now?
helping other family and the little emergencies on an already tight budget
Have you created a budget?
yes
List your top 5 budget busters?
1-helping family when they can't make bills 2-fixing the cars 3-not making enough when i work 60-70 hours every two weeks...and have those wages garnished as it is...*SIGH* (those are the main ones)
What is your plan to get out of debt?
To start putting more money back toward the cc's. and to pay the tax/interest on the student loan since my wages are already being garnished as it is and then work on the medical bills.
How much will you try to reduce your debt by this year?
Try to do a at least 1/4 to 1/2 of it by this time next year.
What kind of support do you need from fellow Debt Cutters to help keep you on track?
encouragement and advice (lots of it)! please...

Re: Eeyore88's Debt support thread....
-helping family when they can't make bills
***starting to say you don't have the funds!!! that will help first and foremost
***tracking every CENT in a spreadsheet
***pay down the smallest bill first
***stick to a budget, if it is NOT written down, do not buy it
***no impulsive buying, it's hard but it can be done
***for medical bills, call them and arrange a payment plan, most are willing to work with you
***use coupons and trade for products that you use, take a inventory
Hope this helps alittle as I am on a tight budget too!
