I'm sorry things didn't go well. It's hard for some people to face and then admit that they have done wrong, or in this case, keep spending too much. I don't have any words of wisdom. Just know that I'm praying for you and your DH.

Well, I'm in the market for new car insurance and while I'm at it I'm going to look at home insurance. My stupid car insurance company has jacked up my monthly payments twice now in about 4 months and I have no idea why. I haven't had a speeding ticket in over 10 years and I've never been in an accident. They are pissing me off so they have to go. I love the fact that I finally have power over my money and can tell it where to go and that I know where it is going. Wish me luck.

Be sure to change over your policy before the end of the year and pay for the entire year...all of Kansas home owner policy that start in January will go up due to the catastrophic damage the Hail claims from May 22nd and the Reading Kansas tornado.

This at least buys you a year. We are in the process of reevaluating our insurance as my sister works for an insurance company out here in SEK Kansas....they are brokers so they have access to quite a few different companies and will see if they can get us a better deal. We go through Triple AAA currently...which ends up going through Allied.

**anyone else that had craptastic natural disasters in their state this year ought to do the same...you'll have the same problem. The insurance industry is hemorrhaging in $$ this year. Each state works independently from each other. So as an example: Missouri doesn't influence Kansas rates, and Kansas doesn't influence Missouri rates (and technically the Missouri Governor has put a hold on allow the Insurance companies to raise rates in Missouri...but this will probably make things worse in the long run). Alabama, Texas, your rates will probably go up as well. Those with flooding not sure..since insurance normally won't pay for flooding.

So My Husband and I had a big blow up this weekend...earlier in the week...I realized he had drained my account of what little money was in it...he had done this because he was going to bounce his account. He was going to bounce his account because he was not paying any attention to what he was doing when he was paying the bills..and I swear to you..even though he knows math...for fun he does calculus cause he's bored..he doesn't have any sense!

After a long talk...I tried and tried and tried to hammer into his brain that he needs to go and read DR book and get a good idea of how to actually pay off CC debt cause the man just doesn't get it.

This is what he did.

9/2 BOA $100
9/6 Commerce $350
9/6 Chase $100
9/6 GM $100
9/8 Chase $100
9/12 BOA $200
9/13 GM $100
9/13 Chase $200

Not only could we not actually afford all of these payments....what on earth is the point of trying to pay them all off at once it will just take longer. I tried and tried and tried to explain to him that this method doesn't work

The sad thing is we back in May only had 2 CC's with amounts..and he HATES paying interest..so he opened the Commerce one and transferred to get out of paying interest again. And I guess the GM was a tooth bill..and will be back to being paid off next month (which if he had just paid all the extra payments this month it would at least be paid off this month...duh!).

So now from Mid this month we have had no money..and he's had to charge at least Gas because he drained both accounts by doing what he did...and not being able to drive when he lives in Arkansas and has to drive here to Kansas..and I have to have Gas to get my daughter to and from school is not an option. grrrrr


Have any of you had a Spouse do that scenario above..and if so...how on earth do you get them to stop.
