Dave Ramsey support thread - July 2011

We are on baby step one. We have written up a budget and we have an immadiate plan for an emergency fund. We did this years ago, and we had all of our debts paid down. I got sick, we fell off of the wagon, and now we are baxk to step one again. I do not plan to fall off ever again.

Don't feel bad! We've been listening to Dave for 12+ years. We've been as high as Step 6, ran a totally debt-free small business for several years and still found ourselves back on Step 1 earlier this year (without going back into Step 2 however.) The only thing that saved us from financial ruin was that we followed Dave's plan.

Just be intense and deliberate and stick to the plan. BTW--it's much easier going through it again after you've done it once already!!

We got my car paid of now!!!! 1.5 yrs. early...now to move onto dh's truck. That's our only debt other than the mortgage now.

We finally got all of the paperwork done so now DH has disability insurance! We got rid of our satellite tv to pay for this extra expense and they came out to about the same cost (I'm talking cents difference) so no money lost, no money gained but the feeling of security in case anything should happen...priceless.
