I am having a big Christmas Dinner this year.I have a huge grocery list and I need some questions answered...Please help!

Does Walmart sell a 25 lb. bag of granulated SUGAR?
--I have Save-A-Lot, Food City, Walgreens, CVS, Ingles, Dollar General and Family Dollar--Do any of these store carry 25 lb. ?
--If not, Where can I get a good deal on sugar? What is a good price, before coupons?

What am I looking for when a recipe calls for shortening?
My Mom says it's like butter.
What isle is this in at the store?
What am I looking for?
LOL I need a small container for cheap...It's ONE cookie recipe!

When you use a coupon from the Walgreens Weekly ad...Do you have to have 3 of the same coupons from 3 copies of the weekly ad, if the limit is 3 to get the same price on each item? I want to get the snickers nutcracker deal for $0.39 ea. w/ the $1/2 Mars Holiday product, but I don't know if I have to have 2 of the $0.39 coupons from the weekly ad or does the limit 3 and 1 coupon take care of it.

Is the reg. price for 2 oz. ky jelly at walmart $2.48?

My Walmart stocks the 25 lb. bags of sugar - Great Value brand. Tried to check the price for ya online but it says "Price may vary."

To find out about the sugar you can call your local WM or try looking it up online. Go to walmart.com and put sugar in the search bar and see what size bags come up. Around here, a decent buy on sugar, 4 pounds, is about $2 before coupons.

You can also buy Crisco shortening in pre-measured sticks now and it comes in regular and butter-flavored. I love the butter-flavor as it adds richness to everything.

To answer your Walgreens question, no you don't need multiples of their own coupon, just one. When the cashier scans it, it will know to take off the price if you have multiples.

sugar is on sales right now if you watch. can i ask why you want 25lbs? how do you plan on storing that as sugar will become a block if not used. literally a block.

$1 a 5lb package of sugar is good. that is what i am getting it for now at schnucks after their store coupon.

$1 flour is great too. again schnucks this week.

shortening. $.50/1 crisco coupon out from inserts. if you store doubles this can be a good deal. if not use it at walmart. they have the small things of shortening for $2.19...then also have a small bottle of crisco oil for around the same. but generic is probably cheaper.

There are usually about 2 cups of sugar in 1 pound of sugar..

I agree with motherofmolly, even if you are making a LOT of cookies, you'll never go through 25 lbs of sugar! Start with maybe 10 lbs and see how far you get. My guess is that you won't need more.
