Check the thift store for glass containers. Decorate them up with ribbon and gift tags. That way, after Christmas is over they can use them for something else.

I just saw in the ad for Dollar General they have a variety of holiday themed tins for $1 each.

I always buy these after the holidays when they're on clearance at various stores for the following years use. I also buy the holiday themed acrylic plates and use the large clear or printed 'bags' they sell 3 to a pack to 'wrap' the plate in. Those are usually used for bundt cakes.

    How big do you need?
I made homemade peanut butter cups for years. I would put them in a ziplock sandwich bag. Then get 2 pieces of tissue paper and sit them so corners are misaligned. Set bag in center. Pull up tissue paper and wrap ribbon around top. Leaving some tissue paper above where you tie ribbon. Then add more ribbon and do the scissor curly ribbon thing. Soooo cute!! i also used this method to wrap our homemade ornaments each year.
    Good luck.

It's a little late to do for this year, but maybe this will help for next year. If you buy oatmeal in the round box, save them when they're empty. You can cover them with wrapping paper (the lid too) and use them for cookies or other treats. Pringles cans work for this too. Last year, I used the little plastic tubs from frosting to wrap baseball cards for my grandson. He didn't know what they were because of the shape of the gift!

Could you use Ziploc bags? I have bought plain bags and stamped them with Christmas rubber stamps (you need to use an ink like StazOn so they don't smear).

ITA about going to a thrift store. Consider buying a Christmas mug and put goodies in that. Our thrift store has had mugs for .25.

What I've done is went to local thrift stores and bought some nice, clean christmas/winter tins and washed them, then used them :) I got some pretty big ones for lots of goodies for like 25 cents! Waaay cheaper. But also the dollar tree does have some cute stuff!

Also, there's Christmas ziplocs out too! or even the dollar tree has christmas "baggies" :)
