    HELP 2000+ Reusable grocery bags

I'm looking for 2000-3000 reusable grocery bags for a charity event. We fill them with food and give them to school children for the winter break.

    Any suggestions?

We don't care if they have a logo on them as long as it's is "appropriate" for kids.

    Thanks!!

WOW what a great event. You need to get these sponsored and donated. Start with a local promotional products company (there are loads) and ask them is they will provide at cost or under - then ask two or three or ten other companies to pay the rest of the bill for the chance to have their logo on the bags and sponosr this event.

I saw staples is doing a bag promo over Black Friday - possible they would work a deal with you.

Also take up a collection - most of us now have extras of these?

Check promo companies to see if they had anyone cancel an order?? or change their mind or they made a mistake and spelled something wrong?

Do you have to purchase them? If so what is your budget like? Is this a chruch sponsored event or not? I am seeing some faith based bags on the Dollar Tree website that might work. Of course they are $1 a bag, which is not bad, but your looking at $3000 bucks for 3000 of them!

The project is done every year by a large group of volunteers and private donations. We provide Christmas, food, clothes, a carnival, teddy bears, hygeine supplies, etc. for an entire elementary school. It's so amazing!

I have the bags at .50 right now and I think Wags may have given me a deal on some of them last year.

The budget for the entire project is $50,000. MY job is to be the bargain hunter and make sure we can do everything we need to within the budget.

By the way, I live in Long Beach, CA and am not too far from the garment district. I've never there before though.

    Thanks!

I would ask my local Target or Walmart for a donation of their bags. They both give to charities---and it would have a benefit to them with their logo(s) on the bag.

In my experience the "big" stores have a lot of levels to go through to get donations. Small companies are usually pretty easy!

I would call Wal-Mart, they take pride in being a computer leader...they may furnish the bags for FREE or give you a GC for food. Second choice Walgreens, they have Community Team Leaders in metro areas.

    This is a great project!

this is what i was thinking of ...target would be my first choice
but try the district offices of your grocery chains

aslo if u can find a local printer of the bags u might ask for their mistakes they might donate for the tax write off

call walgreens they have sold them for as little as 3/1.00 and maybe the will do that for you...

good luck and i will keep my eye and ears open fo r you
