Christmas Deal on an Artificial Tree?

Any hot deals out there? Looks like K-mart might have them for %50 off on BF. My local stores: Walmart, HomeDepot, Lowes, Target, Kmart. Any help would be great!! TIA and Merry Christmas!!

I have seen used artificial Christmas trees advertised for give-away on freecycle. You might check there first (if you are open to having a second hand tree).

The best prices are after Christmas is over, though. We got our tree at Lowe's or Home Depot (can't remember which one), about 3 weeks after Christmas. It was half price. It was their display tree, and they let us keep the ornaments that were on it for free.

Depending on the size, Target had one I saw today that was fairly average for $20. I think it was 6ft which is a decent price before the holiday. But if you can hold off until after then that would get you the most bang for the buck.

Try putting a "wanted" ad on Craigslist. I had one for a couple of years sitting in my attic because ex-BF wanted a pre-lit tree. I gave it away when someone posted for it. Lots of people get tired of artificial trees and want to give them away . . . particular the ones without lights.

Ironically, my now DH wishes ours had colored lights after having heard from ex-BF and family how much "nicer" white lights would be. You honestly can't please everyone so I've given up. I did get mine (supposedly a $250 tree) for about $10 from Amazon, but it was after Christmas one year.

I'm in the market for one too! There are a lot of differences with trees - prelit - or not, and then how tall and then how 'sturdy". I personally think that Hobby Lobby, Mikes and Joanns have some good deals for trees. I'm also considereing Balsam Hill (their website says they are the choice for set designers). They have a 10 year warranty.

Last year our girls wanted a real tree. Our youngest has never had one and our oldest can't remember when we had one. She was 2 I think. I found a stand last year at Home Depot after Christmas for $1. One of those really good ones that swivels in case your tree is crooked. So this year I get to battle pine needles and try and keep my male dog from 'watering' the tree.

Since I have grown and moved out of my parent's home....um 25 yrs ago, I think I have put up a Christmas tree twice. My living room is way too small plus I hate cleaning up after plus the majority of those years we always traveled out of state or some other *good* excuse. My excuse the past 4 yrs has been my dogs might knock it over.

However when I get the urge to get a tree (every year actually) I tell myself to wait until after Christmas for the tree and ornaments. But always forget or wait too long

I know my stepdaughter who is 10 would like one but even last year, they didn't put one up at her Mom's house because they always use real trees and both their allergies were horid so they wrapped a fake figus tree in lights.

HOWEVER, I have always been able to find lights on sale and we do string up our windows with various colors depending on the holiday. Valentines Day gets red light, St Patrick Day gets green, we haven't found good Easter color lights but we ALWAYS do red, whtie, blue for the entire month of July (DH and SD's birthday month).

I had to throw our tree out after the kids and cats destroyed it. It was $90 and almost identical to this one Walmart now has for $39. This is what I will be getting if they still have them when I get the money:

Walmart.com: Holiday Time Pre-Lit 6.5' Colorado Pine Artificial Christmas Tree, Multi-Color Lights: Christmas Decor

I have to get one also. Mine fell over last year just after christmas and broke one of hte arm legs on it..LOL I think my cat help it along some with the falling over.
We put it up right after Thanksgiving so I have to get one soon. I had a big one that was like some of the ones I see for $120(mine was a few years old) but this time I want a small one with a small price of liek $20 or so. I did not like the big tree as much as I thought I was going to but I used it anyway being that I had already paid for it...so back to cheapest one I can find.
