    Kids Ibuprofin or Acetometaphin

Help! Now that cold and flu season is upon us, I'm looking for either advil or tylenol, or the generic for kids. I was wondering if there were any deals out there to be had.
    Thanks

Usually I get it at Dollar General I usually pick up one of each for just about $5 total of course they are store brand. I like to have Tylenol and Motrin both on hand simply for when they need the relief sooner than the next dose can be given, so I alternate the Tylenol and Motrin.

Just a note if you do get it at the Dollar General just make sure of what you are grabbing, The first time I grabbed 2 Tylenol meaning to get one of each but the bubble gum flavored Tylenol generic brand looked like a Motrin label so I had to go back and get the right stuff.

I have noticed that on childrens chewable ibuprophen that one of the incgredients is aspartame. *blinks* That causes headaches in a lot of people that are sensitive to it. I avoid it. Don't understand why they put that in it. That was in Targets generic one. and I think Walgreens generic. I have been unable to find name brand (advil, Motrin, etc.) for months if not over a year now since that last recall.

I have one child out of three that can swallow pills. The other two have to have chewables.

I don't use acetiminophen (sp?). It never worked for me in the first place, and with all the warnings about liver damage, I won't touch the stuff.

I was in Dollar General today happen to see tear pads $1.00/1 next to the Rexall brands Ibuprofin or Acetometaphin the prices were $4.50 on one and $4.00 for the other. They are the 4 oz. bottles. Seem like they were cheaper last time I bought them, must be my memory is getting bad or the prices on this are going up like everything else.. I grabbed one of each my 6 year old was complaining of an ear ache this morning. I have had to tell him a lot lately not to submerge his head while taking a bath. Oh lessons we must learn the hard way. :( He had ear issues a lot when he was 1-2 yrs old and we have always been really care ful not to get water in his ears and he is 6 going on 16 thinks he knows it all.

I get the generic at Walmart. I had a $1.00/1 coupon for Advil kids at walmart yesterday but the generic was still cheaper.

Occasionally walgreens is cheaper with there RR deals and such...but I've been avoiding wags like the plague.
