    Default Furniture

I just bought a house for myself well its 4 bedroom and a tri-level since many houses in Michigan are tri or bi level. Well to get to the point I am extremely low on money and this home has a family room and a living room. And since we will be using the family room the most, well the living room has to be done also since its the only way in the house you have to walk by it and I only own one couch. I need more living room furniture. I have been told to use it as my stockpile area but since I have 4 bedrooms and two people I have two extra rooms. Some one please give me ideas on nice but cheap living room furniture. Ohhhh most of all I totally forgot my tv volume is acting weird, it sounds like someone is talking under water. I will take second hand but since Garage sale season is about over any more ideas. I live directly across value city furniture, meijer, walmart,IKEA, art van, sears. A few thrift stores but I don't like the idea that they are donations and they sell the old 90's tv for over 100.00.

Congrats on your new house!! Keep your eyes out for clearance. I have seen clearanced end tables, desks, etc. at Target many times before. I have never used Freecyle but I have seen it mentioned here numerous times...you may find something there.

If you have a local jcpenney, they are having an awesome sale right now, plus if you go into the store, they have some items on clearance that were floor models.

Congrats on your new house! I'd say see what stores have coupons you can print online that carry furniture, then go look. You might also see if you have a used furniture store in your town. I got a really nice used futon frame. The mattress looked ok, but I just can't bring myself to use someone else's mattress. I ended up just buying a sheet of furniture foam and some pretty material and making my own.

Congrats! I would suggest not only Craig's list but the yahoo freecycle group in your area. There are a lot of neat things that people want to get rid of, including furniture and tvs and wall hangings etc. Also, I would turn the living room area into maybe a sun / easy room you could find some wicker out door furniture and use it in the living room, really cute and this time of year with summer clearance stuff cheap! (may be even find it on craigs or freecycle, a bit of white spray paint and you have new furniture and cute!)

I know this is gonna sound a little wierd but . . . I found a coffee table and some kitchen chairs just driving around town on trash night. There was nothing wrong with them but some scratched paint so I cleaned them up and spray painted them and they look awesome!

If you have a goodwill you may want to check there for TV"S..A few days ago they had the old type for only a few $ I mean very few a 19 inch was only $2 then they were like $4 $8 and $10 I think was the most any of them cost. I heard her tell someone that they had so many of them at the storage place that they were sending out truck loads to be sold at that price so they could get them gone.

Also you can find some nice other furniture pices there from time to time.

I knwo you siad you dont like thrift stores but it maybe a good place to start if you are in need and realy low on money to spend on these items right now.

Oh I love thrift stores me and a fellow co worker have a ball at them. But the tvs are the older ones and priced at close to 70 dollars. Which is out of control to me. But for a great deal on clothing such as juicy outfits we have food for close to 2 dollars when valued at 150.
