Birthday having twins and no diapers

I am in my 38 week of pregnancy and I'm having twins. This is a huge blessing for us after 2 years of strugling on getting pregnant, these are my first babies and I'm having a boy and a girl.
I have been so overwhelm trying to get everything ready for the babies nursery room but I have bought very little amount of diapers, and I need some help, I wonder if anybody can help me with any good deal on diapers and wipes going this week. I have meijer, cvs, rite aid, walgreens, target, walmart and k-mart around. Thank you very much for your help!!!

I have g/b twins. They go threw lots of diapers and wipes. You will need about 5,000 or so for each one of them before they are potty trained. Mine are almost 5 now, so I am not up on diaper deals these days...

So many twins born these days..when I was prego there was 58 other women at the dr I was seeing that was having twins. So when mine get in school there will be lots of other twins there. I just heard today tht Jennifer Anston(sp) is having twins at the of of over 40..

Have you considered cloth? Prefolds and covers are a pretty cheap alternative to disposables. PM me if you want to know more.

walgreens has decent deals from time to time. try and find the clearanced ones too at cvs...they cvs store brand is decent for daytime wear.

and dont rule out cloth. they are great and you just wash them. i would get at least 20 a piece for the two children. that way you can wash and use and still have plenty. first time expense can be expensive...but you can also buy used and get them cheaper.

I have almost 18 month old b/g twins!! Congrats!! From my experience, I wouldn't stockpile diapers. I know, I know, we are on a couponing site where people stockpile. Here's my reason, I stockpiled TONS of diapers. My son had to be put strictly on Pampers Sensitive and sensitive wipes. My daughter can wear whatever brand. I had so many size newborn, and 1 and 2's that I had to just give them away, the stores wouldn't let me return them, even without a receipt because they were so old, yes there's a date on the sticker on the box. I wasted a lot of money and really wished I would've waited. Yes, its no fun being unprepared, but it might save you money in the long run. hope to help some.

I'm with you on this one! Thankfully I didn't stockpile. I started with a Pampers but they gave her a rash. Luvs gave her a rash too. The only ones that didn't were the Huggies or the store brand like them. But the store brands tended to leak.

The other problem that I had was that sometimes she would seem to outgrow one size overnight. So I did need to keep the next size up in the house, just in case. But I also needed not to get rid of the old size right away because once in a while she would go back down a size.

When she grew she would get chunkier around then shoot up in height. So often there would be a few days or a week where she would actually go back down after she shot up in height.

I also found that diaper doublers were great! These were like a menstrual pad without the sticky stuff on the back. If she was in between sizes, and she often was, I could use the larger size with a doubler. Otherwise there would be leakage around the legs.

I tried to buy diapers on pretty much an as needed basis, one or two packs at a time. I almost always had coupons for them.

We did get lucky with the wipes. She was able to use any kind. No problems.

dont buy newborn size at all. these are good for about a week if that depending on the size of your baby.

size 1 and 2 ...get some but not alot. these are the ones they grow out of quick. 3 and 4's are the ones you wikll use most of.

my first one we used diapers with.

I'd buy a 2-3 packs of newborn. There's no way my 3 could have gone straight into size 1, they were little peanuts. I even used preemie with #3, she was 6 lbs 2 oz & she was swimming in newborn.

I also think sometimes twins come out a little smaller than a singleton, and there's nothing worse than not having diapers that fit. You're already going to have your hands full & I'd rather have some on hand if needed instead of having to run to the store at the last minute.

My girl was 5lbs 4oz and my boy was 6lbs 7oz. My girl even wore some preemie clothes, but never the preemie diapers. I had a pack of those just in case. I can't remember how many packs of newborn diapers we went through. Remember, 2 babies means double of everything. So you might need 4 or 5 packs of newborns, I don't know.

I wouldn't say don't have any diapers on hand when they are born, I am saying don't waste your time stockpiling them. I would get the normal diapers and some sensitive ones, just in case. My son ended up needing the sensitive ones maybe when he was a month old or so and is still in them at size 4!

My daughter had to wear the preemie after she was born. The newborn were too big. She wore the preemie for probably a couple of weeks. Then she wore the newborn for about 3 months.
