QUESTION Looking for a Diabetic Glucose Meter

Hi, I was wondering if someone could direct me to the nearest deal for a diabetic glucose meter? I need to test myself for diabetes and know they often go for really cheap or free at Walgreens or Rite Aid with coupons and/or rebates. Anyone know of any deals for one this week or next?
    Thanks in advance!

You can try contact your local chapter of the American Diabetes Association :) They should have access to free meters. American Diabetes Association Home Page - American Diabetes Association

If you have insurance, some plans will give them to you free.

I have a coupon for $10 off any OneTouch product with the purchase of any OneTouch Ultra Meter and another theat is $5 off two boxes of OneTouch Delica Lancets. I don't have Diabetes so I don't know anything about these products. However, I will mail them to you if you are interested. They expire 8/6/11. PM me with your address if you want them.

If you have insurance, have your Dr. write you a prescription for one. But do call your insurance first and see what brands they cover. Meters are cheap unless you need some kind of specialty one. It's the strips that will get ya. I just got a Bayer Contour at Bartell's for $9.99. I didn't even bother to run that through my insurance because at that point I likely would have had to pay more for it than the cost if I did. Now that I have paid my catastrophic cap it would be free.

The cheapest meter I know of is the Relion from Walmart. They also have the cheapest strips. But again if you have insurance you'll want a prescription for those.

Yes you can get a free meter. But you need to look at the cost of the strips.
