I was told by someone I don't remember who to use white vinegar in the rinse aid part of the dishwasher. I can't believe the difference! I never have spots anymore and white vinegar is super cheap!

We have hard-ish water, but the stuff that gets to the dishwasher is routed from the softener. So the hard water/soft water isn't the issue, I don't think...pretty sure it's just the water in the city I'm in - I never needed a rinse aid before moving here, hard water or soft. The vinegar thing doesn't work for me.

I use only about a tablespoon of my Sam's Club powder, along with my rinse aid. Every other brand, no matter how much (Cascade excluded, that one works but it's expensive!) and no rinse aid leaves film and/or dirt.

i think youre going to have to experiment a little. I LOVE the finish quantum, before that i used the cascade action packs, once in a while powder, but i do ALWAYS suppliment with a liquid( any kind , right now palmolive). I have such hard water, sears had to stop testing it!

If you got this past sunday's paper. there were $1/1 cascade coupons. your walmart may have the cascade trial size action packs for .97 . Maybe you could try some out.

Good luck and enjoy your new dishwasher, and P.S. i NEVER tried the finish or Finish quantum until i just got my brand new dishwasher, and it came with it. it was awesome. my other dishwasher, i had to use different stuff. i think each dishwasher is a different animal btw . lol

I know it will be trail and error to get the right brand. I just wish it would have at least come with a sample pack of a few brands since I don't see anything on sale in my area. Unfortunately no doubles ever. I wish they had trial sizes at my stores so I could try stuff out. I was also told about running hot water first. Now if we could actually get it hooked up so we can use it that would be great.

I did also see about the free cascade trial packs from the p &g coupon but it seems to be the most sought after coupon and I dont have to funding to get them besides the fact that I refuse to pay crazy rates just to get a popular coupon.
