Diapers - they make my head hurt!

My SIL is pregnant and due in December. She and my brother may possibly be unemployed and will need all the help they can get - neither of their contracts were renewed due to budget cuts, and so they'll for sure be unemployed for at least some time, maybe quite a while...and since I know how expensive diapers can be, I thought I'd pick some up here and there for them to use when they'll need them.

I have 2 kids of my own, but I buy large cases of diapers for them because I can generally find them really cheap in the size that I need. Not in the smaller sizes, though, so buying them cases of those is out.

Because I buy large cases, I have no idea how many diapers are in a "jumbo" pack vs. a regular pack vs. a case of huggies, pampers, etc. THEN, factor in the RR here at Walgreen's, the $5 gift card there at Target, the coupons Huggies always mails me, the Pampers ones that come in the P&G inserts...and I AM LOST.

If someone could at least tell me how many size newborns are in a jumbo pack of one brand vs. another, how many size 1's, 2's, etc. that would be so helpful. Also the regular pack, the case, etc. Once I know that I can do my own math on the cost per diaper when the various coupons and sales come out.

And, as a bonus, if you shop for diapers like this, where do you generally find your best deals? I have a Walgreen's, a Target, KMart, ShopKo, Walmart, Dollar General, and a small chain grocery store to choose from.

I generally buy the jumbo packs. If I am out and about I would pick them up at Walmart...trying to use either a $2 or a $3 coupon.

If I get them at Target is is when I can use a target coupon along with the regular manu coupon.

at Walgreens there was a booklet put out that had baby coupons in it. If you can trade for that you can use those coupons with a manu coupon...and then wait for a RR deal to come along and purchase then.

Thanks! How many diapers in the jumbo packs you're buying (newborns, 1's, 2's, etc.)? If I know that it's easier for me to figure cost per diaper. I've tried to check when I've been out and about but with 2 kids trying to pull stuff off the shelves at the same time I'm trying to think it's a challenge!
