Deal Shopping for a 5th wheel or camper 25 ft or longer, less than $6,000

We just moved to Wichita Falls, TX and currently live in an RV park with my father in law and space is really really tight so we are starting to shop around for a camper for ourselves....does anyone have one for sale or know of anyone selling one around the Wichita Falls area or surrounding area's? We prefer a slideout because they just feel roomier and we prefer 1990's and newer........I thought maybe HCW friends would know some good deals or give me some websites besides craiglist to look at....

Craigslist is about the best I can think of. I watch ours all the time. I think you may need to lower your expectations some, though. I don't think you're going to find a 90's vintage for that amount. I realize that prices are somewhat lower down there, though. Personally we don't like the slideouts as there's more things to go wrong and also our weather up here isn't conducive to that sort of thing.

We bought our 1990 38 ft Winnebago for $7500 a year ago. Some minor malfunctions, but they've been fixed. Comparable models have been listed for $10,000 and up. Ours was a screaming deal. Few and far between. I would avoid dealers as they like to mark things up and hide problems. Well, so do private individuals. lol

I would just keep watching the list as spring is coming and more people will listing their motorhomes/trailers. With gas prices the way they are, I think more folks are going to try to unload them. Patience is the key and you have to be ready to jump on that screaming deal the second you see it.

If you Facebook, you might try posting what you are looking for there. I've found quite often that someone knows someone who knows someone...

We're shopping for one too. :-) Hope you find a good one!

Do you have a bargain finder type newspaper there? I would try something like that. Also check your local newspapers too, right now is the perfect time to start selling them. Even check with some of the local rv parks, they may have some that were left on site and they need to sell.
