Need help finding deals on toiletry items for donations for my daughter's work project

My daughter informed me today that her work (local youth center) is going to be collecting toiletry items for the homeless and they have until MLK day to get things together.

Nice notice!

But I don't have alot to donate. She of course assumes I can just snap my fingers and find the free stuff. lol

Anyone have any great leads on free toothbrushes, soap, etc? I think I can get Reach for free with the $1/1 I have left still at Family Dollar but have to check that out.

I have Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS, Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Shaw's, Price Chopper, Big Y, Shaws, Market Basket. I really can't afford to spend money on this stuff so it has to be freebies or at least free after coupon/ECB type deal.

I've been lucky at finding trial sizes that you can use coupons for that don't exclude the items so you might only be spending a few cents on vs dollars. Its the first of the year too so stores will be resetting their shelves and the items that they will no longer sell will be on clearance. You can then try to get coupons for those items and get them even cheaper. Sometimes you can find that rr will work with the clearance items and get the rr with the cheaper items. For example, at walgreens maybe a pantene product is on clearance and if you buy 3 you get a rr for $2 so you can then turn it around and buy other items. Dollar General has 2 different kind of small bottles of Olay body wash - quench and shea- on price cut for $2 and there are $2 coupons from 12/26 PG (BTW, the $1 discount comes off at the end as a store coupon)

Ask your dentist about donations of oral care products -- you'd be surprised how generous the office can be.

Too bad you didn't know while the Kroger P&G sale was going. You could have gotten lots of Herbal Essence products, Secret and Old Spice b/w & deo's.

I second asking the dentist about donating toothpaste & brushes as they are really great about doing so. There is also a WAGS deal on Reach this week.
