Default Need moving boxes -- soon!

Does anyone know of a good deal on moving boxes? Or anywhere to get them cheap (not banana boxes from the store, like regular moving boxes, or other sturdy/no holes boxes)??

I'm starting the moving process in the next 2 weeks (official move date after Christmas, but moving a little at a time into storage).

Any ideas? I'd like to keep the cost down as low as possible.

Go to your local Walgreens and ask to save. They get in good sturdy boxes for shampoo/conditioner or detergent.

Also, try Costco or BJ's Wholesale ( Warehouse Stores) they normally have a huge bunch of boxes for people to use to carry stuff in since they don't offer bags. You can get boxes that work for you just by picking through huge pile. And FREE :)

If you go to a store like walgreens or cvs make sure to go in on there truck day in mid afternoon when theyve got most of those boxes unpacked before they crush them. Grocery stores as well. They get pretty stury boxes for laundry detergent and stuff. When i worked at subway i took alot of boxes home to move with and the army moved us but they just stuck there lil labels on all my prepacked boxes and i was good to go i labeled them as well. If you live near a base chances are there will be alot on craigslist of freecycle from people that just moved to the area!

WE've moved 10 times in the past 7 years and are doing another this Christmas break. Long story! Anyway, WalMart!!! Their stockers get there around 11 at night so if you go around 12 or so and hit the cereal aisle, seriously some great boxes! The entire store gets restocked at night so all the grocery aisles are good. The egg boxes are great for smaller items. I was lucky this last time to find some HUGE boxes in the plastic tote aisle. Those are great for blankets and pillows. Good Luck!!

    Thanks, everyone!
I went to Kroger today and left my name/number. They said the night stockers would save some bigger boxes for me. Woot!

I have found some good boxes in the cardboard section of our recycling bins when I go dumpster diving. YMMV on that of course.

Freecycle and Craigslist is also a good option.

Or if you must buy them I found Home Depots prices were significantly cheaper than buying boxes from Uhaul.
