    Globe Vegas Deals

Going to Vegas for the first time in June for my 20th wedding anniversary and was wondering if there are any locals that can give me some places that they love to eat or do that is cheap. Also is it worth it to buy an entertainment book to save us money??

I'm not a local, but I go there 3-4 times per year. I don't know where you're staying, but if you are staying on the strip....it won't be worth the drive all around the city to eat and save a few dollars .

There are quicky places all around...Panda Buffet (I think that's the name) Mcd's...right between Harrahs and Casino Royale, OSheas has cheap eats...if you want pretty good deal and don't want to eat fast food the whole time.... Tropicana and Excalibur I know both have 24 hour food passes. They are like 24.00 per day per person (for a full 24 hour period)....come and go as much as you want during the 24 hours. Otherwise buffets for 1 meal will be 14-25+PP at other places. There are alot of freebie fun things to see and do while you're there on the strip that cost nothing...you'll do alot of walking and sight seeing. The volcano erupting at the Mirage, water show in front of Bellagio, downtown, the light show, each night. The little coupon books and stuff you'll find might land you a B1G1 free buffet at some places, however those buffets are sometimes 30+ PP.

What we try to do..(we are big gamblers and rarely leave the machines/tables) eat a bagel or something cheap in the am, and 1 big buffet mid day. If late at night we get hungry we get a slice of pizza at one of the fast food places. I'd eat buffets all day long but my BF cringes at spending $40 to eat each time...so the 24 hour passes worked out great. Excalibur buffett will be much better than Tropicana.

If you drink...watch out! Buying at the bar will cost you $6+ per drink for beers, try and sit at a machine and get them free from the waitresses..but they don't come around often...or go to Casino Royale (buy Harrahs) as you walk buy, snag a beer for like 2.50. If they have the little game out front, it will print you a coupon sometimes for B1G1 beer. And if you smoke......take them with you, they are $8 in the machines! Have fun!!
    If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!

Thank you so much this does help!! We are staying at Planet Hollywood which I think is right in the center of the strip. The 24 hour food pass sounds like a great idea but I have no idea if it is even close to where we are staying.

It will Look close :) But everything in Vegas "looks close" you'll understand what that means after a while. You are smack dab in the middle of everything, Trop and Excalibur are close, but not sure if you'd want to walk there 3x per day.

Everything is so expensive out there now...I started going when I was 21...am 36 now. Buffetts used to be 2.99, but now that they keep blowing up everything and building fancier..well, everything has gone up. You will be close to a Wags and I think CVS :))))
    If it isn't free.....it isn't for me!

I used to go all the time - not lately so I am not sure but my favorite free thing was touring Bellagio - the flowers and the lobby are gorgeous. Also Freemont Street (old Vegas) had the .99 cent shrimp cocktails - it was kind of kitcshy to head down there. The french breakfast buffet at Paris was not cheap but it was delish!

    Have fun!

Vegas is fun, but be prepared for the expense. There is a restaurant right on the strip called the pepper mill that has great food and oh the hot fudge sundaes are HUGE!!!

The Mcd's there was even expensive.

I dont know about if the entertainment book would help you. Is there a way you can see what coupons are in the book first to see if there are any you can actually use?

Emjoy yourself and have fun. Its definetly different out there.
