Need Basketball-theme serving trays & bowls!!!

Selection Sunday (March 14 this year) is one of the biggest days of the year in my house. My 14 year old says that it's even bigger than Christmas to me! LOL!!

This year, not only will we be anxiously awaiting the brackets...but...my daughter (30) will also be coming into town that day!!! I haven't seen her since last July!!

So...it's a BIG event this year!!!! I've already got my "Xavier Blue" tablecloth, and the "Xavier Blue" frosting for the cookies. BUT... I need serving trays and bowls that look like basketballs!! I never thought about it until I saw a football-shaped one yesterday at Goodwill!

Obviously, I don't want to spend a ton! I'm hoping for dollar store stuff, to be honest!! I have Dollar Tree, Dollar General, Family Dollar, Big Lots, KMart, Walmart, Target, Kroger, Meijer, CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, and probably others! I'm in the Dayton, OH area, if you have another store and can do a store locator from their site.

So...has anyone seen these??? Where are they, and how cheap can I get them??

I don't have any ideas for finding pre-made basketball trays, bowls, etc... but an idea if you want to try to make your own: look at Walmart, Dollar Tree, etc. for plastic plates or bowls that are orange but still sort of see-thru (opaque?). Blow up a simple graphic of a basketball to about the size of the dish, to use as a guide. Then use either a Sharpie or black/brown paint and a small brush to draw the lines of a basketball on the BACK of each dish.

Something else I've seen that might work: use Modge Podge to attach a thin piece of themed fabric onto the back of a clear glass plate. Coat the fabric with a few extra layers of Modge Podge after it's attached, to help protect it. I saw Christmas plates like this at a craft sale yrs ago and asked about them. What I don't know though, is how well they'd stand up to washing, so that might be a more temporary idea, unless you just want to display it (or can figure out how to keep it clean)!

My only other thought would be check with: a team apparel store, a party supply store, and/or a mail-order place like Oriental Trading Co. HTH!! :)

Thanks again everyone. Oh..it turns out that my party store isn't Party City. It's Factory Card & Party. But, hopefully someone else can use that coupon.

Oriental trading always has great stuff...but I don't have a credit card or debit card, so it's got to be a local place I can go and hand them cash.

As of right now, I'm probably just going to scrap the idea. I don't have time this week to run from store to store, looking for them, and still get everything else done before my daughter comes home. I was just hoping that someone had actually seen them somewhere, so I could cut out the hunting part.
