GPS - Need urgent recommendation

Hi....

I am looking to get my DH a GPS for his car but I have no idea which one to get. The only idea I have is the price range... I am trying not to spend more than $120....

What is a good and reliable brand and model for that price range? Please help :shrug7:

A MUST is the feature text to speech. This means the device talks to you as you approach needed turns, your destination, etc. I have a Garmin nuvi 660. I've had this for over a year and it does everything I need and more! You can find them now on eBay for $100-$130. It also has a bluetooth feature so you can talk on your cell phone hands free through the device and have it make calls for you on your cell. You can also tell it to search for restaruants and other attractions as your driving. This is very helpful when you are in an area that you're not familiar with and need to find a bank, place to eat, hospital, etc. I got very lucky when I bought this model on eBay. I had no idea I would really use those extra features.

Most of the research I did pointed towards Garmin as being superior to other GPS manufacturers. I also decided to buy the lifetime maps update this year.

Also, a good quality dashboard friction mount is a must to. Those suction cup mounts suck.

I recently purchased this one from amazon....LOVE it so far!! I agree with pp, text to speech and searching for locations close to you is great when you are places that you aren't familiar with.

Garmin hands down..I've used that, tom tom, magellin, Garmin is my fav of the 3.

You guys are so resourceful....!!! I did some research and I can't afford the Garmin 660 but I think I will go with Garmin Nuvi 285WT. I guess it is a good starting model since we never had a GPS before. :)

Yeah.. my DH definitely will hide his GPS somewhere, since he works at the jail, you get all kinds people in and out the parking lot!
