need a steam cleaner for carpet

i'm desperately looking for a deal on one. I can rent one for $40 for one day but I would rather own one for not much more if i can find a good deal. I was thinking about the bissell rebate but it says something about not conbining with other coupons or offers and i was thinking of using a kohls 15% to get a good deal when its on sale. I would ideally like to pay under $60 otherwise i might just rent one. I also considered spot cleaning and using a wet dry vac to extract it. Any thought or suggestions are appreciated. Its mostly to clean pet stains in case that matters.

Have you checked Kmart? I bought one several years ago for under $100, a Dirt Devil. It came with attachments to clean furniture too. It does not have the heated water option like some of the more expensive models, but it works fine. I too have pets and have used it many times to clean up messes.

Is there a rebate out there? can you point me to it? My Dh made a spur of the moment purchase for a cleaner at walmart $188.00. No sale or really good deal. He knew it is something I hadbeen wanting for a while. I see walmart, target, and a few other stores often offer a gc when you purchase it at their store. I would have personally waited to buy it then. He is the type to buy it when he's there deal or not I think between now and christmas if I see the offer again I might do an exchange. Then have extra $$ for under clothing that I so desperatly need lol!!

the rebate is on bissells website there are a few. i actually gave in and got one at kohls today because my awesome friend is helping me pay for it. this was the best deal i could find and it is a 3 day sale. i got the bissell lightweight steamvac - its the light green one for 99.99 and borrowed my friends 30% off and charge card my other friend was with me and we combined order for kohls cash- we were picking up gifts for some of her family. we spent $100 out of pocket a $13x.xx value and got $20 kohls cash back you cannot use it until the day after xmas but maybe some good deals then too. i don't know if i can still use the rebate cause it says about no other offers but its a store discount so i may try or ask. maybe you can bget a similar deal or the rebate i think is good until 12/31 and you probably bought in the time frame i know its been up for a while or have walmart price match/ adjust - if they will (?) I know i've been wanting one forever but couldn't justify the price or didn't have enough when it was on sale. it pays for itself after like 3 times
