    Default Preschool snacks--special list

When I went to drop my daughter off for school today, I had a note saying they are going to start requiring parents to provide snacks as of Jan. 4th. There are some children with severe nut allergies so we are only allowed to bring things from the following list. The snack must feed 10 children. Any help would be greatly, GREATLY appreciated!!

    Fruit cups
    Apples
    Bananas
    Applesauce
    Teddy Grahams
    Fruit Loops
    Apple Jacks
    Ritz Crackers
    Club Crackers
    Cheese chunks or slices
    Goldfish
    Nutri-Grain Bars
    Cheezits
    Chicken In a Biscuit Crackers
    Wheat Thins

Oh...I have King Soopers, Walmart, Safeway, Walgreens, Target, and Rite-aid around.
    Thanks in advance!!

Hmmmmm.....kinda strange to have an actually list of *has to be from this list*. DS1's preschool gives a list of suggestions but just says nothing with nut products due to severe nut allergies.

There are mail in rebates when you buy 10 boxes of nabisco crackers (I think that is what is says) so if you stock up on the crackers you can also send in for the rebate.

It kinda surprised me that we can only bring things off this list too but it says "Please provide snack only from this list of nut-free snacks." I'm thinking it might be because there has been one party so far for which parents signed up to bring things and there were a couple parents who didn't read the package enough to notice the warning that the product was made in a facility that has nuts so...maybe its so there's not any opps? idk but it's kinda frustrating :/

I'm going to look up the nabisco crackers rebate! Thanks for that info!!

Walmart had Wheat Thins (perhaps Triscuits too, I did not look for them) for $2. Use the $1MC and then combine with the $10 rebate (wyb 10). BTW, the rebate is only specific Nabisco crackers.

You should see our school list - it has way more items than yours, but they are all really specific. They actually say the brand - like Kroger brand fruit snacks. Yes, that means BC is out. Everything on the list is low-fat, low-calorie and a lot of it is generic for some reason. I understand asking everything to be store-bought vs homemade, but specifying a brand is crazy. I wanted to take a snack for my DDs bday but after looking at the list it was pointless. Who wants to eat a low-fat generic granola bar for their bday?

Right now Walgreen's has Ritz and Wheat Thins for $2 a box. If you buy $10 worth, you get a $3 RR. That is $1.40 a box without coupons. There are some $1 off 2 in the Nabisco calendar. Then send in for either that rebate or the one on their website to make it sweeter yet.

Keep an eye out for cheap Cheez-its. You can use the Kellogg's Calendar rebate (if you have it) for those. I think Club crackers are a Keebler product, so they also qualify. For the goldfish, I usually stock up when Krogers (King Soopers) has them for $1.00 (10/$10). On the off weeks they charge over $2 a bag! Crazy!!
