Need Tracfone help

Help! My Tracfone expires on Saturday. I have usually bought the one year cards, gotten about 1600 minutes. I think I have a double minutes for life card. Right now, I have about 1200 minutes. left. I really don't use it that much, usually it's along the lines of "I'm here, where are you?" kind of thing.

What can I do to get more time but not much minutes? I'm thinking of a 90 days card for $20. that would be about $6.50 a month. And of course I'd use a code.

Could you not just buy another minutes card? It use to get you a couple months of service. Or would that run the risk of loosing your number?
