Re: Where to get a good deal on a nice cat scratcher? i dont know if this is the answer you are looking for (as i havent bothered to buy one)
i had a friend who put carpet remnants on the side of a bookcase for her cat (worked great----bookcase was aquired at a yard sale for a dollar, carpet was gifted to her) ....she just used a staple gun to get the carpet up the sides of the bookcase and on the top
i had another friend who BUILT one.........started with a small end table, a few boards, and some empty oatmeal canisters and some sturdy rope...........she put 2 oatmeal canister stacked ontop of each other hotglued or something to the center of the end table, wrapped it in rope so the rope was flush and no canister was showing (some sort of wood glue was what she said she used? may have been gorilla glue) then put carpet over the top of the table, stapled down.......on top of the rope wrapped oatmeal canisters, she covered another board with carpet and hung toys from the corners....that was the gist of how she made it ( it was like 6 stories tall, and all 9 of her cats could be on it at the same time) |
