Default New Queen or King Size Bed

Anybody know where is the best place to find a good deal on a new queen or king-size bed?

I'll also take opinions on what kind of mattress is the best.

Buying a new bed is daunting!!

Ditto on that! We just into a new place that has space for a guest bedroom. With guests coming to town in a little over a week, we are pressed for time. Any advice on finding the best deal on a mattress would be awesome!

Are you a Costco member? They have some really great quality mattresses for a good price. I got my son's twin mattress there and it is very nice.

It depends on what you are looking for... if you are looking for nice stuff that you want to keep for several decades... By far the best place in USA to buy furniture is from all the discount websites based out of North Carolina. It's where the majority of all furniture that is actually still made in the US is made. You have to pay a lot for the shipping/handling but usually the prices are so low you still save more than you would in a furniture store. Our friends bought a bedroom set that would have cost about 6,000 - 7,000 for their huge bedroom with several pieces and I think they paid about 2,800 not including the shipping/handling which was prob. about another 1,000.

I know this sounds cheap but I was really surprised to see the selection of beds at Big Lots...name brands and lower prices than those I had seen in furniture stores. It would be worth checking out but of course, their inventory varies...if you live in a bigger town, contact one of the local Big Lots and see which of their stores is the "designated furniture store" for that area.....Angela
