check your local pawn shops. We got my nieces for $45.00 regular price was $120.00. Call them first they will tell you if they have before you ride around wasting gas. She had to have TI-84. Good Luck.

If you have Walgreens in your area, check their clearance areas. I found a graphing scientific calc for my daughter marked down to 7.99. It isn't Texas Instruments, but works just the same.

I got mine on ebay and have had it for several years now. It works just fine. I needed a TI-82 or better and ebay has a lot. They are expensive to buy new!

Ebay, Craigslist, or Kijiji would be your best bets

Most schools require TI-83 or 84. If they don't specify, you could probably get any other brand almost anywhere much cheaper than the TI. But you'll want to consider what she's going to need it for in the future also.

If she's going to a university after high school and you can afford to now, you might as well get a TI now.

The TI-89 is really great and worth the extra $ to me but only if she'll be using it all the way up through calculus (that's when I gave my little sister my TI-83 and bought the TI-89 - for calculus 3 and 4). The 83 was fine up through calc 2, statistics, probability, trig, geometry, chemistry, and physics.

I am in the same boat! Trying to get one on Ebay for less than $60! My dd is taking Stats in 10th grade and needs a TI-84. Her teacher told her to get one at the beginning of the summer, we'd get one cheaper. Boy wish I had listened!!!!!!!!

I found a T1-83 at Walgreens on clearance for 9.99, it has a graph key on it and works for Algebra and a few other calculations.
