HELP Pre-Paid or Pay As You Go Cell Phone

I am looking for the best deal on a pre-paid or pay as you go phone. I'm more worried about saving money on the minutes and not how fancy the phone is. Anyone know of any good deals or have any suggestions?
    TIA,
    Tracy

Depends on where you live. In GA we have metro pcs...unlimited everything for about 40+tax per month, but doesn't work in all states. Another option is AT&T, I think their pay as you go plans start at 35+tax for about 100 not a good deal if using the phone everyday. You can also check boost mobile, virgin mobile and possibly tracphone. HTH

Sorry, I should've said I live in Illinois. I have heard not so good things about tracphone. I will check all of the companies out that you suggested. Reps to you for helping!

I was going to say I think it depends on how often you need to use it .We have trac phone and the one thing nice about it ,is that if you don't need it ,your not paying for the minutes .As we have only used it a few times since we harldy ever go out of the state .

ETA that Boost has a pretty good plan for 50 dollars a month .Unlimited local and long distance with many calling features.

In Illinois the AT&T phones have pretty good coverage. I went to the AT&T go phone site and put in my parents zip code. they have plans starting at 29.99 for 200 anytime mins, 39.99 for 300 anytime, 500 nights & weekends and unlimited mobile to mobile (other at&t phones), and then more plans going up from there.

Reps Lurkergirl. I just can't get it together today! I am very dependent on my phone. This will be a huge lifestyle change for me. I am used to unlimited everything (talk, text, internet) on my phone (probably why I can't afford it anymore) and had the basics for my daughter. With the type of phone I have now I am required to have the more expensive plan to keep it on and not eligible for an upgrade (or downgrade) for over a year still. Would save much more if I cancelled my line and paid the fee than to pay the amount I'm paying monthly. Thanks for the help!

I got my parents a virgin mobile phone. The phone it's self was 14.99 and the top up cards @ walmart are 19.xx for 200 minutes. The nice thing about it is that you can either top up once every 90 days to keep the phone # active, or top up every 30 days to roll your minutes. The higher value your top up card the cheaper your minutes are. You can also go online a earn 5 free minutes a day.

I love Net10 service myself. Net10 phones come with anytime 300 minutes and are only $29.99. The minutes after that are only 10 cents a minute. So 300 minutes are only $30.00. The minutes are kept after you add more minutes. The time you have to use them add everytime you add more minutes also.. I think it is great and of course you can send and receive texts.. They take off 1/2 a minute each.
