Default Looking for advice on a kid friendly MP3 player?

I'd like to get our DD, age 3, a mp3 player. I'm seeing alot of mixed reviews and a wide range of prices on the net. Anyone else have experience with this type of electronic for a little one?

My kids who are 8 and 10 have mp3 players you can get them fairly cheap at Wal-Mart, Kmart, or Amazon.com. My DD has a barbie one you can change the faces and outfits on it is super cute got it at Amazon.com for only $10-$15.00. It downloads songs real easy from your computer and charges from the computer. My ds has one from k-mart it was $10.00 after thanksgiving. It is a great little mp3 player and works really well. Hope that helps!

My oldest DS has had a Creative and SanDisk. Both quit playing within a year. DS2 has a cute Disney Cars one that is a pain to get music to load onto but works well. As far as my work in retail, I saw the most returns with Sony, Phillips and the Shaker(sorry don't remember the brand name). RCA makes some reasonable MP3's, my sister has owned the same one for four years.

We got DS 10 a ipod shuffle last year. It works great for him since its so easy to use and it was not too expensive. Now he wants to hand it down to his sister though and get an ipod touch

I bought my 5 yr old an inexpensive one the day after T-Day last year. It was $10 at a couple different stores. It's the kind that has the USB drive built in under a cover. And just has a simple screen the displays the song. My ds likes it because its easy to turn on and switch between songs. It also turns off automatically after hitting stop.
