Default Please post your car here if it has more than 100,000 miles on it

My son is 17 yrs old and will need a vehicle when school starts the end of August. We have decided we can buy a $5000 vehicle.
I have been looking and have found for that money we will get a vehicle that is about a 2001 and has well over 75000 miles on it.

My husband is NOT a car guy. He WILL NOT do any kind of car work either, we are at the mercy of mechanics when it comes to car problems.

I guess what I am looking for is for people to post vehicles that they have that have well over 100,000 miles that you would recommend others to buy because it has worked for you.

My present car is a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville, that has 111,000 miles on it. It's a great car...but it's an OPC! (Old People's Car)

Before that, I had a 1991 Toyota Corolla, that had over 250,000 miles on it.

My son has a 1992 Honda Accord, and my daughter has a 1999 Honda Civic. The accord has over 200,000 miles on it, and the Civic is close to 100,000.

Preventive maintenance will keep a car running well for a long time. Change the oil on a regular basis!!! Check all fluids and tire pressure on a regular basis. Make a calendar and stick to it! That's the best advice I can give you.

We have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited that has 210,000 miles. We also have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport that has 125,000 miles. And we have a 2001 Chrysler Concorde with 110,000 miles. A friend of ours has a 1990 Jeep Cherokee with 225,000 miles. All are going strong. I would recommend a Jeep in my opinion. HTH!

We had a '98 Chevy Blazer that had over 190,000 and our current '04 Malibu has over 179,000 and going strong.. we don't get the regular check ups or oil changes as a matter of fact when our Blazer needed a new motor they found a mice nest in the engine... OOPS !! Best of luck.. Chevy's seem to work for us and I used to be a Ford girl.

We have 4 vehicles, but my baby is a 1995 toyota camry with 236,000 miles on it! I guess i'm sentimental because it's seen a marriage, ,divorce, another marriage, 2 kids and a few fur babies in it's time!

We have 2 new SUVs and a truck, but the Camry has always been reliable!
Toyotas in general are. Mt bro is a mechanic and he recommends the camrys and the corollas.

    hth!

I have a Nissan Altima 1993 and I have close to 140,000 miles on it. I bought it well over 10 years ago. I have only had very little go wrong with it. Just make sure to go to Auto Zone or Advance Auto Parts and have them check the battery and do make sure you have the oil canged regularly!
I would go to the local police autions for repos and such. They have auctions 2 times or more a month. Check it out first and then place a bid on one the next day you like. You can find most for really cheap.

    1995 Toyota Avalon
    125,000 miles

Little mechanical trouble which was not under the original warranty and still seems to be going strong.

I have a 2000 Nissan Pathfinder LE which I love! I bought it about 6 years ago with 38,000 miles on it...it now has just over 102,000 miles. I have never had anything go wrong with it. I change the oil about every 4 or 5 months....and change the fluids when the mechanics say they need to be changed. I think Nissan makes great, reliable cars!

I have a 99 Chevy Cavalier with over 220,000 miles on it and it still runs like a champ! no oil leaks either! I have had to replace a starter, belts, thermostat and alternator which were very easy at home fixes!! I love my car!
