storage bench

I'm looking to buy a storage bench for my front entryway - any ideas of good places to shop for them? I've been checking online, everything seems to be $150+ with killer shipping charges. I'd rather shop online than B&M, just because my stores never seem to have what I'm looking for and trapsing around with kids just always seems too hard.

my mom got an awesom wooden bench/box thing at a craft show like 10 years ago, i dont know how much she paid for it(im thinking about 75?) but its so cool! we use it as our coffee table with extra blankets stored inside of it, but when mom had it before she gave it to me, it was placed by the front door to put shoes in, so check your local arts and craft shows, or hit up a local woodworking college class, sometimes you can get stuff custom made that way for WAY less then if you bought it

also try the craft stores for those benches- sometimes they have them, unassembled and unfinished for a very low cost (and even better w/ craft store q's & sales :))

check yard sales too- and flea markets.

Another option is to check into places that carry naked furniture, country furnishings and even antique type stores. You can even try estate sales/ auctions.

Try placing an ad on freecycle.org or check the local newspapers for ads.

Put a wanted ad on the local bulletin board at your grocery store.

Something should pop up for much less than retail!
