I'd like to get a sewing machine but would like a great deal on one. Has anyone happened across a deal on sewing machines lately? I don't need any fancy doodads just a simple machine.

I got a refurbished one on ebay, the seller gave free shipping! I got a basic one for about $65, well worth it for a quality machine.

Keep your eyes on craigslist or join freecycle and post that you are looking for one. A friend of mine got an old one for free off one of those sites that just needed a little repair to work. She took it to a sewing machine repair shop and it was only $10 to get it fixed. This was five years ago and she still uses it.
