What about tacos? If you do burgers, just get more ground beef. Refried beans and maybe a small salad could be a great meal. What about making Blueberry muffins for breakfast one morning - sometimes I see Betty Crocker coupons for the mix. Hope this helps!

Hello! How about mountain pies? They are something we love to make (not just when camping!) - and they are inexpensive and the kids (depending on ages) might like to make them too!

Pizza Mt. Pies - Bread, sauce, pepperoni, cheese
Toasted Cheese - Just plain old american cheese, serve with tomato soup
Ham and Cheese - chipped ham and cheese
Ham BBQ - Cook the bbq first ahead of time - then make the mt. pies

Dessert -
PB & J - Dust with Powdered Sugar
Any Flavor Pie Filling (we add marshmallows - yum!) Again, dust w/powdered sugar

Hope these ideas help!

I know there are some Q's out for some free ham WYB sara lee buns (i think) anyway I used to work at a camp and on of the most popular meals was Ham and mac and cheese and crescents or biscuits (or both) then reuse the un-used ham in breakfast the next morning make ham and eggs served with biscuits then for lunch (maybe the next day so you get a break from ham lol) make ham and cheese sandwhiches on crescent rolls served with chips and fruit. It's an awesome way to make ham go a long way for feeding a group

Okay, here's the update. We ended up with a total of 18 people including chaperones. I spent about $400 on food for the week (including all drinks, meals, snacks, s'mores). I didn't think that was too bad, especially since half were teenage boys - thanks again for all the help!

I come from a very large family and I am also from the South so we eat like this every time we get together.

Someone already mentioned a roast, you could also do a roast in a crock pot and then SHRED IT UP, add BBQ sauce and then have BBQ beef sandwiches, chips, beans.

Look around for the best deal you can find on "carveable" meat.

For example, see if you can find a good deal on turkeys and then do a Thanksgiving in July! They just take some time, but turkeys are really cheap. Add stuffing, grean beans, mashed potatoes.

Also, if you can find a good deal on a ham or two, try ham, mac & cheese, salad.

I'm sure you have already considered hot dogs, but also try doing a pulled pork or chicken in a crockpot. I have a good one but I need to find it. Try doing a google for one and then just substitute pork or chicken for whichever you can find on sale.

Then you could try breakfast for dinner one day. Pancakes or waffles, sausage.
