Re: Kroger Cincy 10/19-10/25 ad with matchups manders13, If you take the ground beef and wrap it really well, I think you can easily get 6 months in a deep freeze out of it. If you have one of those vacuum sealers, maybe even longer. According to the USDA, for best "quality" you want to only freeze it for 3 to 4 months. I know I have pushed it beyond that, especially with ground beef/sirloin, which I generally use in something else anyway. According to the USDA, steaks should keep 4-12 months in a freezer. However, I think with steaks it is tougher, because if you don't really seal it like with vacuum system, (Alton Brown would say) the ice crystals act like little knives and cut at the texture of the meat, so the end result is not yummy. =)
