No, it won't count, at least that has been my experience. If you give your card at the beginning of the transaction, sometimes the free item will be deducted immediately. Other times, it won't happen until the cashier totals.
I never count the free item in my $/$$ transactions.

Bear in mind that it may actually "work," meaning that depending on how things ring up the freebie may not come off until the very end of the transaction, but if you find that the full purchase price does apply until it's all done and over with, you're still not supposed to do it. It's one of those things that sometimes works in the technical sense, but the freebie is not intended to be counted in the $/$$ deals. I only say this because someone may find that, "hey, this works even though people said it wouldn't!" and take that to mean that it's ok, but it is very not ok.

I find this weeks is better than previous ones. I"m not pulling my hair out trying to figure what to roll or burn. DH already has a nice stockpile of Schick Quattro razors, but I'll be adding to it tomorrow along the Sunkist sodas. I got a 25% coupon in the mail, so I'll use it Saturday on the Aveeno (hoping to overlap the suncare & haircare deals!)

I have lost all of my sunglasses and have been dealing with headaches the past couple of days from the sun because I am too cheap to buy a new pair. I bought a new pair at CVS last year and I love them. I am really excited about this!!!!

I went tonight to see about the sunglasses, buy 2 and get $10 eb's back. Paper said lowest price is 5.99, I think. The lowest one's I saw were for 10.99 and tonight they were buy 1 and get 1 for 50% off. Not bad for sunglasses I thought, 2 pair for 16.49 and got the 10 eb's back, so like 2 pair for about 6.50. Not free but not bad, I thought.

Yes, that's what I did. I had only $11.05 to spend to get to my next $20 for the Aveeno deal. I bought 2 $6.50 shampoo, used $2 Aveeno Nourish mq and $1 ant Aveeno mq. Paid with 10 ECB and got back 10 ECB.
