Sears Essentials/Sears Grand (used to be KMART) doubling up to $1

My local Kmarts have never participated in the doubles. However, I got a flier in the paper announcing that Sears Essentials & Sears Grand are doubling coupons up to & including $1 from Oct 14-20. It also came with a $5 off $50 coupon. The flier said that Sears Essentials and Sears Grand in these locations are participating:

Lenexa KS
Noblesville IN
Liberty MO
Louisville KY
Menomonee Falls, WI
East Ridge, TN
Homer Glen, IL
Oshkosh, WI
Loves Park, IL

I have a flyer that lists the following stores as also participating:
Warrenton, VA (sears grand)
Warren, MI
Bethlehem, PA
Nashua, NH
Lawnside, NJ
Londenderry, NH
Marlton, NJ
Putnam, CT

On the downside, I just got home from the Warren Michigan store, and the registers aren't set up to automatically double coupons. They had given the cashiers sheets of UPC codes to double with, but they weren't working either. I ended up spending about 1.5 hours at the checkout, and she ended up having to put in the value of the double coupons as a customer satisfaction refund (or something like that) because she couldn't make it work. On the up side the cashier was very nice, and very patient. I definately plan to email sears and let them know that particular cashier was awesome, but that they needed to do a bit more prep work if they were going to do this sort of thing in the future.

Thanks for the info, anyone else have that problem? How are the prices/sales compared to kmart? Anything cheap/free? Are there any good scenerios? And are there catalina machines at sears? Sorry for all the questions, I don't shop at the sears grand very often.

There is also a rumor that there will be a major clearance event on the 16th at sears, where items will be marked .19 or .99?? (not sure) I plan to wait until then to go and just go ahead and hit the sears grand instead of the sears at the mall.

Hi! I'm a long time lurker and I'm finally making my first post. Last week I went to the Super K in my area and it took over an hour to check out because my total was coming out wrong. Wed. I went to my local Sears Essential and the experience was like night and day compared to what happened at the Super K. There were some problems with coupons coming off correctly but the person that checked me out was very nice and got the manager to overide it to make it come out correctly.

A few of the prices were less at the Sears Essential than at the Super K. The two I noticed were Celestial Seasonings Tea and Borax. Both were almost $1 less.

A few of the deals I got that were good were:

Small bag of Purinea Heathfull - $1.99 ($1 coupon)
Tums Smoothies - $1.99 ($1 coupon)
J & J First aid tape - $1.99 ($1 coupon)
Revelon Tweezers - $1.99 ($1 coupon)
La Cross Clippers - $1.99 ($1 coupon)

A couple things that I found out at the store:

The dates in the flyer were wrong The promotion is from 10/12 Sun to 10/17 Fri

The Sears Essentials are going to be more like Sears and they are eliminating the K-Mart items like groceries and will not be restocking them.

1 biore cleanser
1 arm and hammer essentials
1 extra dark chocolate bar
1 20 count box of tampons
1 large box of raisins
1 glade candle
6 glade wisp candle refills
2 glade carpet deoderizer

Total $5.64 minus 2.99 rebate I have for the Arm and Hammer makes my total $2.65

It took forever for the woman to figure out how to do this, but it was completely worth it. I am going back tomorrow to get more glade wisp refills.

How much were the Glade Wisps...do they have similar sale prices to K-Mart? I know they have Glade products on sale

I have such a headache from this and when I called Sears Customer Service they said only Kmart is doing this and not Sears.. SO I have to fax them the flyer because they know nothing about it.. No wonder the computers aren't set up for this. They also said I was the only one to call in about it.

I went to sears grand yesterday and these were the items that i got for free w/coupon and doubling

2 kotex liners
3 max fresh toothpaste on clearance
2 revlon emery board
1 revlon nail clippers
1 revlon tweezers

I ended up with slight overage on the revlon because they had to manually put them in, which help paid for some other items i had

They had to do a separate transaction for the juicy juice, these were on clearance, for 1.75, for the 64 oz size, i got four and used 2 .50/2 coupons so they were 1.25 each plus tax.
