At WG, when something is priced less than the face value of the coupon (whether a sale price or regular price) the coupon will beep UNLESS your total item amount that the coupon is valid on is MORE than the total coupon value. That's why in my scenario I had $14.95 in Schick razors (before ESC) and $10 in mfr q's - no beeping.
Now if you were to buy, for example, two travel packs of razors for $1.98 and use the $2/1 coupon, it would beep even though it's only .02 more than the price. You wouldn't be doing anything wrong, in fact you could technically use two of the $2/1 coupons for $2.02 overage, but the coupons would beep and then you would probably have an argument on your hands LOL. Easier to just make sure that your item total is higher than the coupon total to avoid beeps and hassles.
Another example is the bandaid deal from a few weeks ago. Bandaids were on sale for .99 each, and there were $1/1 coupons out, along with .50/1, .55/1, .75/1 coupons. By using mostly $1/1 coupons with one lesser value one for the last coupon, we were able to get very cheap bandaids with no beeps. Like 10 bandaids @ $9.90 less $9.75 (9 $1/1 plus 1 .75/1) = 10 bandaids for .15 total.
Does that help it make sense? |
