does anyone know how long pasta can keep? I mean I know there is an exp. date on it but often the companys actually short date the products just to keep you buying more... i have known too many people in the grocery business now... so how long can i really keep it??? lol

I googled it, and read it can taste stale after awhile. The exp dates are about 2 years out, and 2-3 years worth is a lot to stockpile (in my house anyway).

does anybody have the meijers credit card? i am thinking about getting one to get the 10cents/ off gallon gasoline. just wondering if there are any other perks? do you get extra catalinas/ discounts?

There are $1 coupons for Ken's salad dressing out there, so 3/$5 becomes 3/$2, and some newspapers even had $2 off one coupons, so could be $1 overage! :)

I have a Meijer Credit Card and I like it.
I got one mostly for the gas discount, it is .10 a gallon right now which is awesome, and the .05 a gallon is not too shabby either.
Meijer CC has a points reward program; for every $ spent at Meijer you earn 2 points, for every $ spent anywhere else you earn 1 point. I think it’s for every 2200 points earned you get a $10 Meijer Bucks voucher to use toward an in store purchase.
There’s also a discount for purchases made on the 31st; its 5% or 10% on apparel and GM, less on groceries.
It took me awhile to decide to get it; you can find yourself in over your head using credit cards if you’re not careful. You can pay your balance every month in full without paying any interest, and still qualify for all the little discounts and benefits.

The discount dates vary- and sometimes it's 20%, or just the 15% gen merch/apparel and no 5% on grocery, but for the most part it's 15 and 5. It's usually once a month you get a discount. "Amy" from Meijer gives you a call to let you know (usually she calls on Sat cause the discount days are Mon) And I think it's for every 2000 points you get the voucher. What's nice is you can pay your bill in the store so if you're worried about getting in over your head, you can go straight to the service desk and make a payment just like that.

I would highly recommend getting one. It's been a great deal for us but we pay our balance in full each month.
