they did something similar to that here once. chick on meth. they did 4 different mug shots that showed her going from good to bad to just plain nasty. it was part of her sentence that she agreed to. they had it on our paper and on posters. it is sad when you see decent people go horribly wrong.

I have seen this change first hand in a loved one.
It was one of the most heart breaking experiences I have ever had to see how they had gone down hill in such a short amount of time. I could never have been prepared for it even knowing about her addiction. I cried for her, and though she has gotten herself together and looks much better now...I still have the image burned into my memory.

My sister's fiance was a drug user and at the age of 23, he lost his life. Those pictures are disgusting!!! You would think that would deter people from even starting them!

My 6-foot-tall DH went down to 120 pounds after only 7 months on meth. He only has a few pics of himself from that time, but he's nothing but skin and bones. I actually wish he had better pics. We'd use them to scare the (#* out of all the siblings/nieces/nephews. Everyone says you could see the ridges in his forehead and that he looked like a demon.

I'm incredibly grateful that DH only did meth for those seven months.

I can pick them out a mile away. After being an apartment manager I dealt with a lot of tweakers and learned to spot them out quick (cause I really didn't want to rent to them).

I pass them in Walmart...under my breath...tweaker. I know they think they have the world fooled...but they don't. What is sad is when they are with children....poor kids.

IMO though, the pics probably make the biggest impact on those who would never touch the stuff. Those that do/would probably delude themselves into thinking that wouldn't happen to them, or they just don't care!

It was good to have a description of how meth mouth happens. I never understood that.

Was on the grand jury once. Many cases had to do with meth in particular. Before hearing evidence to determine whether to hand down an indictment, on of the vice detectives came in to "educate" us on the meth vs coke vs pot, etc. He said the scariest thing about meth is that it is addictive from the very first use.... it grabs a hold of you and it the hardest one to kick... very destructive stuff... Glad the prev poster DH is clean and doing well. A friend of ours also struggled with it. Tho he has been clean from meth, he says there is a part of him that wants to use every day, and it has been several years for him. It has the highest relapse rate....
