Wearing pajamas out in public?

Am I the only one who thinks its odd? I am not talking about running to the store in a pair of pajama pants. I am guilty of that. Once or twice I have run into the store to get something when one of the kids or I was sick....but I have seen parents at almost every single one of my son's wrestling meets in their pajamas. The meets are from 5 pm till 6pm so its not like they end late at night.

Last night a mom and dad were both in their pajama pants and at another meet a mom was in her pajamas complete with big, fuzzy animal slippers

I dunno its just weird to me as I would feel really odd wearing pajamas to my sons wrestling meet or just anywhere out in public.

I personally wouldn't do this, but maybe they just feel comfortable in their big fuzzy slippes. lol

I'm totally with ya-I think it's strange. I definately wouldn't do it.

When I was doing HR at a nursing home, I had more than one person show up to job interviews in pj's, looking like they had just rolled out of bed. Not a good first impression!

I wear them to run to the store, but never to a function of any kind.

I dont even like wearing a shirt with a stain, or my "cleaning" clothes in public! To me it makes me feel "dirty" I guess. Ive seen some that looked like they fell out of bed with hair plastered to the side of their head!!! TACKY, but pjama pants are fine, Ive done that several times when I was in a hurry. And if your in a small town like me (everyone knows everyone, or thinks they do) you need to put some better clothes on or it will be on the topix form in town!

I think it's inappropriate. We used to have a rule at work, in lieu of a dress code, that if you could wear your clothes anyplace else than work (e.g., the beach, a nightclub, to bed) it wasn't right for work. I think the same thing applies everywhere else.

Jammas are for sleeping/lounging, not shopping or work.

I don't go out in public without a shower and clothes. PJ's are not for wearing out in public but that's just IMO. When I get up in the morning the first place I'm heading to is the shower. I can't work without one. But some people can go for days in PJ's-lol!

Until I found some maternity wardrobe I would shower and dress back in my pj pants they were just the only thing I had to wear that were comfy. I did have a paair of running pants and a pair of sweats that I think look just as sloppy as wearing pj's out so. I will admit I have gone shopping in my pj's ..lol I would try and go really early in the morning when not to many people were out. If I had to go to my boys school for something I would find a long shirt or hoodie and wear a pair if jeans just not buttoned holding them closed with a hair tie rubber band. I found a couple of really nice dressy maternity pants and nice tops. I have to admit if I am at home for the day I would rather be in my pj's though. I know on sunday I wasnted to hit some really good sales so I headed right out in my dh's Oscar the grouch pj's that say " Go Away!" I was almost done shopping and seen a little girl about 5 looking and my pj's and I could only imagine what she was thinking. Then when I came in the house my Ds 6 asked me if I went to the store like that I said yes he said did any one laugh at you? ..lol
Heck they even have jammie day at school once every few months just no slippers allowed.

I wear shorts/tshirt or sweatpants/tshirt to bed...so do I wear Jammies out, yep because what I wear to bed is still clothes. Do I care what people think? Nope....Does what I wear affect them? Nope because I am wearing clothes....I could care less what someone else wears to the store or anywhere else, as long as they are wearing clothes. There are places where certain clothing is expected, but sometimes things happen and you just rush to do something and are in your pjs.
