I've worn pajamas up the road to the gas station, to the ER in the middle of the night and sometimes I wear pajama pants to bed...usually not though

Wearing pajamas or slippers in public isn't something that I do. I wear lounge pants to bed so they don't really look that pajama-like. And still I will only wear them down the street to the bus stop in the morning with DD. But actually going somewhere? Never. Nor will I wear anything that has any sort of stain in public. I would feel dirty and gross.

So how do you feel about a law banning it?

I am not comfortable with laws governing fashion. I am ok with saying certain parts should be covered in public. I am not ok with laws defining how they should be covered. Someone could go out with strategically placed post-it notes for all I care.

I agree I don't like to be told by a law what I can and can't wear. I think it is good to enforce that body parts not be exposed.

I figure if I am on my own time not working I should be able to dress the way I feel comfortable.
Just like I don't like walking in to the entrances of buildings or restaurant entrances having to smell some one else s cigarette but that is thier choice and they are allowed to make their own choices. Sometimes we have to learn to accept choices people make for them selves. They might not always be right but what you gonna do?

See now that's just ridiculous. Government has no business telling people what to wear. I would much rather see someone in Pajama pants than daisy dukes, with a halter top or bikini top, or a Speedo, or on Biggest Loser weighing in wearing a jogging bra. At least PJ pants cover your parts. Don't lawmakers in Louisiana have more important things to worry about?

We already have laws against indecent exposure, they ahould be enforced. we don't need more laws on the books just because some politcian wants to get his name out there.
And, I've read the article but seriously, how do you define sleepware? I sleep in my sweatpants. And I could make fuzzy pants and call them "cozy slacks" and since they weren't sold in the sleepware section, it wouldn't apply. What about "pajama jeans"? The idea is silly

    Sounds like a skit:
1st guy: "hey you're wearing pajamas in public, I could have you arrested!"
    2nd guy: "No, I'm not"
1st guy: "yes you are, look, they're fuzzy sleeping pants"
2nd guy; "Yes, they're sorta fuzzy but they're not my sleeping pants, they're my Cozy slacks"
"My girlfriend made them for me so I could run to the store in comfort"
1st guy: "but they have puppies on them"
2nd guy: "I like puppies, do you have something against puppies?'
Announces loudly to a bystander, "this guy doesn't like puppies"
    etc.
Sorry, I'm just in a silly mood

I saw something on the news last night that some area in Louisiana is trying to pass a law about this.

I agree that laws already on the books should be enforced. I'm not crazy about the baggy pants laws either. Seems like the thugs are easier to catch when they can't run without their pants falling down/slowing them down.

I wear well not pajamas like mumu's or something, i wear pajama pants and a t-shirt or long sleeve, the days i dont have class I will wear that with my tennis shoes to take the kids to school and yes I do get out of the car to walk them to their classes I dont trust two 6 yr olds to go their alone! I have worn them to the store when I had to run their quickly late at night or early morning and even to the ER. If its a parent/teacher conference or I'm going shopping for reals and not running in for a couple things quickly I will get dressed! Their have been times i pick my kids up in pajamas too, if i have spent the whole day cleaning and im not quite done. Im not gonna get dressed when im dirty into clean clothes then come back and change out of it. But I dont wear like stained/holy stuff. Aside from last year we were painting while the kids were at school so a couple times I went up their with paint on me but I was in the middle of doing something! It grosses me out with the people that wear pajamas and the like and dont put a bra on and they are the type that NEED a bra! Im weird and sleep in a bra lol. But I could get away without even wearing one but I would never go out in public without a bra on under my shirt!
